LOL, man some of you guys are just a bit too uptight "How does that dirt taste?" What's so bad about that? This is football we're talking about, not ballet. Of course people are going to be a little edgy in a sport where basically grown men try to hit each other as hard as possible. You can't expect football fans to have signs like "I hope you guys have fun in Tampa!!" and then give the opposing team flowers.... lighten up
I glanced up at the TV last night and saw that. At the time I hoped, prayed, it was just one ugly cheerleader. It flashed so quick I wasn't sure what I saw. Now, I just wish I hadn't seen it, at all. OK, didn't know that. That makes a lot of sense now...
I'd have to look it up, but I believe Ford was a 4*. He tried to play football in the SEC, but couldn't qualify. He was eligible to play in the ACC and at USF.
USF is located in North Tampa near an area known as Suitcase City. I would be real surprised if that was even close to being the worst sign there. Meanwhile, the local high school football competition is very intense. There are plenty of good athletes to go after.
WVU #5 AU #17 USF already has the building blocks established. It's the DNA of all successful programs : * Solid, dedicated coaching staff and athletics administration? .... "check" * Prime recruiting territory established? ..... "check!" * Solid fanbase in a football-crazy geography? ..... "check" * Tier one athletic facilities? ..... "check" * Significant financial support ....... "major check" This USF team may be their best yet, but you'd be naive to think they can't reproduce the current level of success given the resources the program can draw from.
 There are fans all over the country kicking themselves because they didn't think of this one first. Yea, it really is. I think they started about 10 years ago, and have climbed to a big conference so quickly. Definitely an impressive, young program. Don't forget University of Central Florida, in Orlando. Enrollment around 46,000, though it's considered a commuter school. There's some optimism there that George "Resume" O'Leary will get that team turned around, though it sure does seem to be taking a while. Zing! It must be great for long-time fans to finally see some success. :thumb: That's pretty interesting Tiga. Like TrueGrit said, it looks like they've definitely got some athletes. And man, those kids play their TAIL off. I thought the Auburn game may have been a fluke, but it wasn't. They fly around and look like they're giving it all they have on every play. Very fun team to watch and cheer for.
Thats what I said. Most of the kids are just as athletic as any other player form any other team, just not as "polished", but good coaching can obviously fix that.
Agreeing with Bayou Bengal.Wondering why is this team labeled an "thug"team......just because their in Florida??or someone has a sign saying "how does that dirt taste." People could call us a thug team based on some our off the field problems lately but one wouldnt that right. This was another great win for their improving football program and they have a great head coach that has given his all to the program.
If you noticed, it was a question. The reason I said that was based on what I saw in the crowd, and what I saw on the field. Success, at this early in the stage of a program, tends to lead to unruly behavior. The defense was playing very agressive, which is a good thing. That can be a hard thing to control if you don't have the right discpline/mind-set in place. Case example would be Rutgers. It was just an idle thought which led to a question. Nothing more, nothing less.
He was a five star when he was at Hargrave Academy with our Keiland Williams and was actually ranked higher than Keiland but cant remember what he was straight out of highschool. http://alabama.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=42920
