That is a good question. Hmmmm.... At first I thought that I would want UM to run the table rest of this season to save Carr's job. That would spare LSU the heartache and recruiting hit that the "Miles could go to UM" controversy would cause. Then I thought... No. I want UM to get that new coach this season and end this speculation for a long time. Miles has really got something rolling right now I think that he won't leave it. But if we win the MNC... maybe he goes... AAAGGGHHH!!!! I am taking Miles advice and I won't think about this again until after the season. I hope that UM-ND is a 0-0 tie and one of them wins it on a field goal in overtime. Don't care which.
Michigan has no D. Notre Dame has no D and no O. even a betting guy like Paul Hornung could get this one right.
More random thoughts, keying off of some of the above, and more... 1. The State of ND. Clearly, I love it, but there's a cruel irony here that hasn't been mentioned above. What'll ole fat man's coaching record be after three years at ND? What was Ty W's record at ND after 3 (and what'll be at Washington after this year (actually having to rebuild)? It's a shame that folks can be so short sighted about college coaches. Not saying that ND doesn't have the better coach, but talent, schedules, timing and karma can really hide (or inflate) coaching talent. ND, 0-2. Washington, 2-0. 2. Pac-10, Big 10 and Big 12. Clearly, I'll catch fire for this, but what about the Pac-10? I know it's not a popular thought, but I have to say that the Pac-10 is right behind the SEC now. Big 10's stock is going way down. Big 12's stock is a hold. USC, Cal, UCLA, Oregon and both Washington schools. That's a formidable top 6 (not to mention ASU, with Erickson now at the helm--watch out in a few years). Auburn disappoints this weekend and drags us down. Georgia loses to one of our own, so that's a wash. Florida looks to be dominant again, along with LSU. The Big 10 is absolutely weak and don't know why folks still put them up there in the rankings. Wisconsin didn't look great, PSU whips up on lowly ND, and Michigan... well, they got thrashed by maybe the 4th best team in the P-10. Big 12, not saying they're bad, but really, it's the same ole story... UT and Oklahoma. Nebraska, OSU, K-State, Missouri, etc? Yawn. 3. Coaching carousel. Ok, it's a little premature, but imagine the potential waterfall affect of Carr getting the boot, and the Browns potentially looking to snag Tressel out of OSU? Miles goes to Michigan, leaving the LSU spot open. Meyer (who's from Ohio?) goes to OSU, leaving Florida's spot open. Not saying it'll happen, but personal ties are a strong thing to overcome... 4. While this weekend was great, the coming weeks are what are worth watching. Florida goes to TN, and Bama plays Arkansas. USC plays Nebraska. LSU gets a rest. Looking forward to watching some other teams next weekend and how they may match up with the Tigas. :geauxtige LSU!
uga is v young so inconsistency should be expected. auburn still has a great D and can beat anyone because of it still know next to nothing about UF still know next to nothing about Bama---we'll see what happens against Ark usc is good. bad year for them to add lsu to the sched. obviously the combination of LSU's awesome performance and Auburns two poor performances makes LSU the clear favorite in the W. the E is still a mess. the winner will come out with 2 conf losses.
HAHA...A classic. You forgot to include eATMe when summarizing the Big 12 which is exactly where the Faggie program has fallen under Frannie "the man teets". They are pretty much insignificant. Back in the summer a Faggie business contact was telling me how Frannie was about to open up the offense and was using words like "vertical attack" with the fan base. Check Frannie's stats from the first 2 games....one helluva vertical attack they got there.
My observations? Look at geauxgeauxhon's avatar to get a good idea of how much bigger players of today are. Les came up as an O-lineman for Michigan. Look how much bigger his guys are than him. Va Tech overall is not a good team, but their defense returns most of the starters from the No. 1 defense in America the last 2 years. That bodes well for our offense.
Yeah yeah, that TCU upset you called ended up in a 34-13 walloping too. :hihi: As far as the OU/UT game- don't think you're disagreeing with me- I didn't say Texas would win, only said we know more after that. There's no team I'd rather see lose than Texas- well, actually it's a tie tween UT and ND. BTW, I'd picked TCU too.
