Because it may be the only time the student body can rush the field on national TV all year. And it was a weak rush on the field at best.
Because it's Clemson and they don't know any better??? ...or... Because it's Clemson and if you can't beat Kentucky, beating FSU is a big deal.
I couldn't agree more! I was glad to see him go. I have thought for years that he held our team back in the big games, even the ones we won. With the talent we've had over the years we should have been even better. I also think out historically slow starts were due to him not trusting the players to make the plays or worried that the other teams defense were gonna make the plays that would beat us.
I was never a huge JF fan but come on, Crowton didn't exactly light it up against Miss St. This up coming game will speak volumes on what we have for a OC. Not hatin' on Crowton!
Wasn't our offensive line weak under Jimbo as well? I recall rushing the football was a big problem last year (and I'm not real sure the O line is that strong this year). So is this a problem with the O line coach or the fact that Jimbo's rushing plays are straight forward and easy to diagnose? We did see a lot of stacked defensive lines at the beginning of the games last year until the opponents realized Russel would burn them long which is why we scored a lot of points early last year. I'm interested to see how Crowton approaches this problem.
We had several young Olinemen step in last year and they progressed very well as the season.......we lost Sophomore Kyle Anderson and freshman Zhamal ThomasOlinemen over the summer- it didn't help matters.
FSU's offensive line has been really bad for the past several years. They had a rash of injuries combined with a couple of really bad line coaches and have never been able to recover. It was either the weak OL or Miles somehow figured out how to meddle in jimbo's play calling all the way from Baton Rouge... :yelwink2:
