Eh, I'm just happy I got a VT student ticket right now...I'll worry about Florida and Auburn when that comes...

I'm starting to wonder if the Ticket office is going to just waive this stupid 500 ticket thing....I mean if students don't want to go to the game then why force them to keep their tickets?

Anyone know why they did this?

Well, it helps to prevent students from scalping their tickets the day of the game, of course. It forces us to use the LSU ticket marketplace in order to exchange tickets. I have no idea if LSU gets a percentage of the marketplace sales, though.

Judging by the moves they've made over the last three-to-four years, my guess is that they'll move completely to just ID card swiping for students within the next couple of years. Now, how they'll handle guest tickets is anybody's guess.

Either way, it's all pretty crappy (not to mention irritating).

Can still scalp student to student...

The tickets printed out now can be used by any student with a valid LSU ID.

I tried just about everything I could to get a student ticket. I had one secured (so I thought) then I got an email this morning telling me that the boob was going to go to the game and rescended the offer. But, I found a killer deal on stubhub for two lower level tickets, and WOOHOO! See you guys Saturday!

What do you consider a "killer deal"? I just checked stubhub and the cheapest non upper deck tickets were $159 each.

$100/each, lower bowl. Cheapest I've found by far. Seems like the prices are beginning to fall quite a bit as the game approaches and the glut of un-resold tickets hits.

Did the $120 include the upgrade fee? Or did it end up as $150-ish? Oh, to be in the student section again...:bncry:

That's with the upgrade fee. I figured it was worth it to make sure I had the ticket rather than getting there & trying to get one from a scalper.
