....and now the ND slobber fest begins....OH MY GOD...FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER THREE ND COACHES SIT IN THE SAME ROOM FOR AN INTERVIEW!!!! BONE CHILLING.... ...and of course Musburger is doing the slobbering...
Pretty much anything Mark May says about LSU/USC makes me want to vomit. Like him commenting on the 2007 AP Poll with LSU only getting 2 first place votes, he commented "Im sure Les Miles voted for LSU."
I wouldn't go as far to say Mark May is intelligent regarding the LSU/USC debate. I have heard him say one smart thing about LSU all year, and that was about our O-Line.
Who knew ESPN loved University of South Carolina so much. I mean their in the SEC but their no LSU !!! My wife works with the wife of a Cal Berkely board member who got us tickets so i am going to the Cal Tenn game Saturday. I am going to pull for Tenn ( SEC ) but damn it is tough after the crap Phat phil pulled last year. I gotta pull for Cal a little since i want them to beat our obnoxious friends to the south.
I can see them making it but there is a lot of turmoil in Cali right now. The "Urban Conspiracy", the former USC wide receiver Jamere Holland planning to appeal the decision by the athletic department to deny his scholarship release to attend Oregon, players fighting: http://www.latimes.com/sports/colle...-headlines-sports-coll-usc&ctrack=3&cset=true Also reported that: To top it all off, throw in the fact that it resurfaced that a USC coach was convicted of cruelty to dogs 14 years ago: http://www.latimes.com/sports/colle...eadlines-sports-coll_footb&ctrack=2&cset=true He has paid his dues and all but, in light of the Vick thing......plenty of distractions around their program.
They have a good chance of making it. But...once they lose, I'm sure ESPN will run a promo saying that they were the greatest national runner-up in college football history, and were the better team, yada yada yada. :angryfire
In my opinion the USC hype is less aggervating than the West Virginia hype. Can you imagine what a LSU vs WVU or any SEC team vs WVU would be like.
With 30 million people in California and very few teams west of Austin, TX that could hold the jock straps of teams in the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, or ACC, ESPN has to overhype USC. Who else could they talk about to keep the veiwers of the left coast happy? Stanford, Oregon, Arizona, Utah, San Diego State, Washington State, Idaho, Fresno State, Nevada, UTEP, Montana, North Dakota, Colorado State, Air Force, Washington, Hawaii, Northern Arizona, New Mexico? They'll try to say that UCLA and Cal could hang with other top conferences in an attempt to support their argument but like usual, they'll be proven wrong again and make up some other excuse. ESPN also knows that most of the nation won't be watching by the time USC plays. Most knowledgeable college football fans will have already concluded their day by the time the Pac 10 night games begin. ESPN will have to constantly force feed us Pac 10 information because they know we won't be watching the games. Until the left coast learns to play better football and USC gets a little competition, we should expect to see this lovefest continue. I just change the channel when they talk about USC or even show that jackass Pete Carroll. (I still remember his dumbass comments the week they won the AP trophy. What a jerk!) USC Football 2007 - Attempting to become the first three-peat AP trophy holders this century.
