In non-conference games, it is an NCAA rule that the away team decides, which explains Oregon State choosing not to wear their all-black uniforms. SEC rules dictate that the home team chooses, which is why Mississippi State could force us to wear purple. This used to be the exact opposite until about 10 years ago, which explains why Vanderbilt was able to make us wear yellow at home in 1996.

If MSU wants to wear white unis at home and force us to wear our purple jersyes then that's fine. I see no problem with it because, frankly, when was the last time we LOST a game while wearing the purple ones????

REally??? Maybe you're right, but I thought LSU wears the purple jerseys the first non-SEC home game and again for Homecoming??

    I hate the purple jerseys.

I like the white helms and gold jerseys.

I think it would be cool for a teams ENTIRE uniform to be different between their "home" and "away" variants (quotes are needed because we truly don't have either).

oh come on guys, you're all kidding, right? MSU can't force anything. The home team is required to wear dark jerseys and must have a visiting team's approval to switch colors prior to the start of the season.

I like the purple unis. Maybe we could make them Furman like. I dont suggest switching helmets every time, like MSU tried, but once in a blue moon. Have to keep the gold unis in the closet, imo.

To my knowledge, only some State fans, not the coaches, have started this rumor on internet boards since that is their preference, i.e., since LSU apparently does not like to wear the purple jerseys.

Personally, I always prefer that we wear Maroon jerseys in Starkville. I do not care which color jersey LSU wears. Guess we'll find out during warmups on the 30th.

UAB was the last time we lost in purple I believe. But I can't remember if we were in purple or not. Pretty sure we were.
