Exactly, Miles got sentimental and played JV late in the year. He played him early in the bowl game also, until finally Williams was handed the ball later in the game and ran all over Notre Dame. I think Hester is a better back than Vincent and is the most versatile back we have so I really don't have a problem starting him. But there is definately a precident set by Les with Vincent and even other seniors at times. I can't recall if it was at our last home game or what, but Les started seniors that had not started all year in a game last year. I remember it because I was upset because I thought he was being too cavalier.
Wow, some people sound as if it was said that Hester would be the only person playing tailback.......:nope: We have some really good running backs at LSU, Hester happens to be one of them. The guy does nothing but bust his butt, gain yards, move the chains, make key blocks, and score touchdowns, yet it sounds as if some people are upset that he will be the first back in the game. I'm sure the other backs will get the bulk of the snaps at tailback, but as long as we move the ball, score points and win the game I'll be happy watching them all tote the pigskin..........:geauxtige
It was the Ole Miss game and senior night. He had JV, Planchard, Joseph and a bunch of other bad seniors get PT. Another senior he played too much throughout the season was Daniel Francis.
JR is quoted as saying the difference in the offense when Hester was in the game vs. when he was out was "like night and day". He's more than a 'good' back. To others in this thread, they should listen to the radio show...#1 He didn't say Jacob was starting the MSU game...#2 Miles said all 4 backs would play and that Murphy would get "a bunch of carries". If the 4th string RB will get a bunch, how many do you think CS and KW will get?
No, just your grammar is wrong. Check it again, rephrase it, and then check back on what I wrote before. It answers what you posted.
We almost lost that game! We had to come from behind to tie it up with a pass to Bowe in the final minute. We won it in overtime. Taking anyone for granted is a mistake. Starting less than your best people is a signal to your football team that this will be an easy game and sends the wrong kind of message. Hopefully, Miles learned his lesson.
