oh, and its off a bye (for both teams). they must think lsu will be looking ahead to the big tech game. @ Bama? other games seem more likely losses to me-VaTech, Florida, USC, Auburn, Kentucky anyone remember the last time lsu lost @ bama? was it bootygate?
I know they are just predictions and of course they are going to make them, but I find it funny that they have us losing when they have never seen the offense, defense, and personnel that Alabama will use.
They always make a full season prediction on the schedule as part of their team previews. There will be more predictions the week of the game, of course, which won't necessarily jibe with the preseason one but hopefully by then they'll have a better idea of where Bama truly is. Also I think they are predicting a loss there mainly b/c it's perceived as our toughest road game (UK might be), and the chances of getting through the SEC undefeated are slim. Even though we should be favored in every game, they are probably right.
Well, I am hoping that this is Nick's win that he is supposed to get when he shouldn't. I worry about the one that he loses that he shouldn't. Actually I hope that the barn is the win. I can handle losing to LSU much better than the barn or terdersee.
While I don't see us winning that game, I do consider it a possibility we could win it. Reason being? It took overtime to beat us two years ago, and I think we all can agree there is a much better coaching staff in place right now. Last year, two touchdowns were the difference in the score, but the biggest difference was Russell. One hell of a game. I can say I expect to get reasonable prognostications on this forum. Heck, two years ago it was along the lines of "we'll beat Bama by 3+ touchdowns" by most posters. If it wasn't that, it was "the defense is over rated." If I recall correctly, Red was the only person here that gave the defense their due, and after the game it was proven. Interestingly enough, the biggest weakness the last few years was the inept coaching of our offensive line. Now, when you ask the staff about the team and the strengths, they are pointing to the offensive line. Even though he is young, I expect Applewhite (with contributions from Pendry and Cignetti) to be a better play caller in his first year than Shula was in his last year.
So the current coaching staff will have the team in a better position than the undefeated team LSU faced @ Bama two years ago?
