Okay, I've noticed there are some people who still have not seen the Big Lebowski. Go out tonight and rent it. Actually, save yourself a trip and purchase it. You'll want to own it. Best movie ever.

    cajun,
i look at this the same way a player would wear another team's helmet decals at the senior bowl.

after you leave school and you sign a monster contract, there are no more rival schools. just people and teams that stand in your way of getting a SB ring.

plus, i 'd rather him kick a$$ for us for 3 yrs and wear a bama elephant around his neck 1 time in his life than the other way around. :thumb:

I hope you're right and there's no more to it. If that's all it is, I will chalk it up as weird. If he's doing it to spite LSU and the fans, which I doubt, I may have a different view.

I would still like to hear him talk about it.

So, how do I get that pic of JR wearing that Bama Boy Chain for my avatar? Its freaking hilarious to this ND fan, although I can understand why LSU fans would take this a slap in the face as he's basically showing his allegiance to your blood rival. It would be like a ND player sporting SC gear, or vice versa.

And, just from a sartorial perspective, I find that gaudy chain offensive. This is just another example of how money doesn't buy you taste. You can take the boy out of the ghetto, but can't take the ghetto out of the boy. Suddenly, you've got all these kids, who'll never understand the understated elegance of a bespoke saville row suit, freely speending their money on atrocities like five button suits. Oh, dear.

Ooh, the argument That Dare Not Speak Its Name on this board before the draft.

As usual, you have the reading/comprehension skills of a troglodyte. One fan got upset, some were confused, and the majority here have blown it off for what it is...meaningless. Not unlike all of your posts.
But it's refreshing to see that your racist nature is as strong as ever. Thanks for coming to our board and calling our former QB a "boy out of the ghetto". You domers are first class all the way.

I could care less that he was wearing that necklace. Nothing is ever going to change the fact that he was an LSU Tiger and one of the best QBs we've ever had. Besides the fact that it's quite understandable, since he is from Alabama and most likely grew up rooting for the Tide. I don't hold it against him and neither should anyone else, in my opinion.

You know what ticks me off the most about this post? The ignorance.

I've been impressed with Russell since his playing days at Williamson HS. BUT, he moved WAY up my charts with the outpouring of good will following Katrina.

There are plenty of NFL players that were former Domers who are as much involved in the bling atmosphere as Russell. But, I'll take Russell's example and take the high road.

My, what antiquated thought. Even Gieves & Hawkes understands that those with money necessarily will have different wardrobe needs and caters to that element. The most strict Anderson and Sheppard piece has no relevance in the world of many who have proved themselves successful.

You may be distraught with the wardrobe of JR, but don't forget to feign indifference to his level of accomplishment that allows him to trample on your notions of style. It is within that level of accomplishment that the true point of your post exist. JR isn't bound by the same constraints as you are and in the words of Col. Nathan R, Jessep; "You can't handle the truth!" Chafe inwardly on that the next time you are in Milan being fitted for your next Caraceni.
