I was listening to Ott the other day and he read a piece out of one of those preseason mags. The piece was written by some NFL assistant coach. Not sure which one. He ended the article by saying that KW was something special and he said I would take him in the 1st round right now, if I could and yes that is how good he is.
California is a recruiting hotbed and loses many very good athletes to other states. There isn't a kid in the country being recruited harder than D. Scott. There will be no meltdown at USC if he chooses elsewhere. The closest comparison I can think of is Donovan Warren and James Wilson last year ... both who had either committed verbally, or were telling everyone it was USC all the way, but in niether case (Warren or Wilson) was it ever more than disappointment and it most certainly never got nasty the way this guy is framing (some) LSU fan's reaction to JM going to USC.
I hate to say this, but "I told ya so..":hihi: Seriously, I was probably the only guy on this forum who didnt care whether we got McKnight or not, you can check those threads. My reason was the same, we've got a special one in our backfield. We've also got the hard yards runner, our 3rd and short runner, and our lightning speed runner. And they can all catch the ball darn well. Not to mention we have a very promising RB in Murphy and a good RB in Scott. The point is we're full at the position.:thumb:
What does Dodd expect? This happens all the time to everybody. A kid picks another school very late and fans get annoyed. How upset were millions of Texas fans when Perrilloux dropped his committment to UT and signed with LSU? Do they care now? Just a sports hack struggling for a story in the off season.
He will play this year, mainly on KR and PR. Well from what I have heard. They might also use him a bit like we used Holliday last year.
maybe they will have him bringing the other 7 5 star running backs Gatorade during timeouts. Be good practice for him for after graduation. A USC degree qualifies you to be head waiter at the local Olive garden. .
Another Reggie Bush? Jesus Christ!! Bush was the difference maker, the straw that stirred the drink and propelled SC to those NCs. I didn't think college football would see another singular talent like that in another 10 years, and yet SC has another one in its stable of stars. And, how did LSU lose Marshall Faulk to SDSU? Freaking SDSU? If we were talking about a major program, that I could understand. But, SDSU? That has to be one of the most disappointing college football programs in the country given all the football talent in SD and how little SDSU has accomplished.
