Speaking for most Trojans, eventhough ND is "down" right now (as LSU proved in the Sugar), ND and USC's is a long, hard-fought rivalry that has seen some of the great all-time contests (IMO). Each has upset the other on various occasions and while I think there is a lot of mutual respect, the rivalry is also a bitter one. ND is an OCC team that we play every year and I hope that never changes. It is important for us to play and beat them and, the better they are, the better it is for us to prevail, if we are to gain a good bowl berth. This year they (ND) play our other biggest rival (fCLA) and it's a hard one for many Trojans to really care who wins or loses, but I REALLY want fCLA to win in a close one. It's all part of my own "fantasy" that we both (USC & fCLA) go into our final regular season game undefeated ... it would make the pay-back beatdown fCLA will get on Dec. 1, '07 all the sweeter. The last time USC vs. fCLA played for ALL the marbles (i.e. City champs and cross-town bragging rights, PAC-10 champs, No. 1 ranking and (BCS) NC bowl bid was 1967. We owe them one from last year ... BIG TIME!!
 Not Hector, but I'd rather the irish win that game and every other game. This year and every year, I want nd undefeated when we roll into south bend or they roll into the Coliseum. I have respect for the rivalry. ucla? Like a flea on an elephant's butt. Hurts if they bite but when they get swollen enough, they fall off and die and become inconsequential. Last year they bit, they've been swollen with pride since then, and well, the Emerald Bowl marked their entrance to the path of irrelevance. Heck, kal is becoming a bigger rival than the gutties.
Welcome Hector... As a few other posters have said, we would love to meet USC on the field one of these days. It is a shame that our sport is not set up that two strong programs over the last decade don't get a chance to play.

Plus he makes me laugh outloud at work!!! [/quote] Well, I've never met Tirks, but I also have to smile at his "welcome". Hey, passionate fans are what make CFB what it is, baby. Later. It's time for me to get back to work ... yes, we do work in Hawaii. LOL Have a good one "y'all".
welcome, hector!! i gotta say, when Fullback is one of the only concerns you can come up with, you're in good shape. we'll have similar situations at receiver except we have a new starter at QB. doucet will get plenty of attention from defenses so the other WR's will have to make teams pay. we're also very similar at tailback. lots of talent but no clue as who will emerge as the sole yard grinder. i think we'll have a committee. i would say good luck but i'd just end up cheering against you guys every week,so why start things dishonestly?? :hihi:
Well let me say welcome before we butt heads LOL I am honest and i must tell you i am not and never will be a USC fan. I dont think i want to go into my concerns as im sure you know what they are. USCVBALL can vouch for my hard headedness and capacity for being anti USC. But i will make a renewed effort to be civil while i am bashing you. LOL Welcome and i am just kidding !!! Or am I ?..........
By the way, sorry to hear about Mike V. Yours in one of the truly GREAT college mascots, but I know he was loved even beyond that. If I can ask, was it old age or illness that took him after a great reign? Also, is there a Mike VI yet or is that still off for some period of respectful waiting?
He was having trouble breathing because of fluid around the lungs. The anesthesia during surgery was the deciding factor in his death. He was getting old and was starting retirement phase outs starting this season. He lived a long life, captive tigers live longer than in the wild. I think the average life is 18 years for captive and 10 years for wild tigers. Mike VI is already in the works and should be on campus before the season. Rumors is he is a 2 year old Bengal Tiger that LSU is looking at. Check out the Mike V thread for more information. Welcome to the forum.:thumb:
