Hey Ramah, you seem to be into the BCS numbers. Or anyone else that follows BCS numbers. What does this mean for LSU in the BCS? Is it too early to tell? Wasn't that their major boost in SOS over us?

It was a quality point adjustment that they will probably not have anymore.

If Washington State drops out of the BCS top ten, then USC will no longer get any "quality win" pionts subtracted from their BCS total. Plus it drops their strength of schedule.

And now whom can USC say they beat? Wazzou, the same team that lost to Washington, a team that lost to Arizona? Auburn? The team that LSU was up on 21-0 and who will barely have a winning season at year's end?

IF LSU wins out, it will be hard to justify sending USC based on their schedule. LSU's schedule when all is said and done will look much tougher than USC's.

I don't pretend to fully understand the BCS, but how does it hurt their strength of schedule, since they played both Wash and Wash St.? From a SOS standpoint, wouldn't it be a wash regardless of which team won?

In the end, if LSU takes care of business, this loss by Wazzou might be the difference between USC & LSU.

It doesn't hurt their SOS but it will hurt that Quality Win points.

It does hurt their SOS. USC SOS should drop some this week.

I would definately say that their SOS will go down also, because that is derived the records of your opponents during the season.

LSU needed to CRUSH OLE MISS to get to #2 AP/ESPN by DEC 10. PERIOD.

This fraction of a point -0.1 or 0.2 is meaningless because LSU will be behind USC for the Final BCS Poll (Dec 8) by 1-1.5 points.

Ole Miss was our second to last ranked team to play. Of the AP voters (60+ ... 65), we needed a strong minority (20-25+) to pick LSU at #2 this week, and close the gap of ...85 points... between USC & LSU. The idea being that another "reinforcing" win in the SECCG would sway enough of the AP voters to make a majority for LSU at #2 ... and the similar thing happening at ESPN Poll.

    1. Oklahoma (65) (11-0) 1625
    2. USC---------------(9-1) 1559
    3. LSU---------------(9-1) 1474

Sadly for LSU, a split poll #2 vote will not be enough either.

Had that happened ... WE CRUSHED OLE MISS ... AND WON OUT, with a sound win in the SECCG to a Top 10 opponent ... we would have "OUTPOINTED" USC for #2 in the AP/ESPN. I knew this earlier in the week, thus my prediction 63-17.

USC looks to be dug in deeper than a tick at #2 AP/ESPN.
