1. evidently #4 bball program in support ($$$)
  2. I thought Tubby was insulated from that pressure to a remarkable degree, given how poorly Kentucky has been playing for the past few years and yet the AD was still supporting Tubby. Yes, Tubby won a NC but he did with Rick's kids, and all he had to do was get out of the way. At that time, Kentucky had just won a NC two years ago, and had played for another one the year before. Given Kentucky's past with Adolp Ruff, I can't help but wonder if Tubby would have been given the same support if he wasn't a black coach.

Yet, despite all the support Tubby had been given, he basically stabbed Kentucky in the back with what he did. I don't mind that he decided to leave, but the manner he left was pretty lowhanded where he blindsided Kentucky like this and they had to find out that he took the job from the media. Or, look at the way Tubby didn't even have the decency to tell his players he was leaving.
  3. Support? From where? Certainly not the fan base, or the major $ boosters at UK. They've been calling for his job for over a year, dramatically so this year.

Am I to assume you are talking about the President saying "Tubby is our coach?" If so, just how often in today's society does the "note of endorsement" mean a thing?

No, he didn't stab the UK people in the back. Just because no one in the media said a thing about him moving on, doesn't mean the UK people didn't know it. I'd imagine, the two AD's spoke on more than one occasion...if not, you'd be hearing so.

Brian Smith has stated the deal was done for close to a month. (Tubby's son)

It surprised us, sure. But, how often did you hear, "no way Spurrier is going to South Carolina, no way Saban is going to Bama..."

IF what some of the Kentucky people are saying is true (some TV outlets reporting, Channel 18 out of Kentucky reporting what is posted on the Rivals.com site) the deal with Donovan is done, already. (as in the 3rd parties have agreed, it's just BD's decision on when to announce.) IF that truly is the case, I would (if I were their AD) have welcomed another school's interest in Tubby.
  4. I heard 7yr/30mil !
  5. im not sure what you'd consider "the past few years" but it wasnt all that long ago that tubby-coached UK went undefeated in sec play. that aint easy, or a fluke. wasnt with pitino's kids either.
