I don't want to derail this thread, but I had a question about the new construction that has been bothering me since the season, and didn't really want to start a new thread on it. So i apologize in advance.

What are the brown bars/things all over the windows on the west side of the stadium? I don't know if they are bars, but they are spread out inconsistently across the windows and really look like chit.

    Do they have a point?

Are they going to completely remove or completely cover the windows with them so it doesn't look so chitty?

I don't know, but they are still putting them up and have been since August. The bucket cranes are up every day working on them.

Got to this site and look at the photo gallery. It has drawings of the final product.

did they mention if it was just going to be bigger within the current "chasis" or is it gonna be a big rectangle. I really like the shape of our boards. I guess that's what I was getting at. Of course I like to see the replay if I didn't have a "real-time" good view of it but I think stripping everything out of those current structures and replacing it with a larger screen that stretched across the thing, that would be a perfect size, not too big to be an hideous wart on TS, but bigger than what we got. I don't think I've ever been in another college or pro stadium that had screens as small as the ones up in TS. Maybe its just my perception. Those ads are ugly up there and I'd put up with the occasional video ad on a newer larger screen over the current any day.

yall really want that godzilla-tron thing perched at one or both endzones?

Maybe there's something wrong with me but I even liked it more when we finished the east upper but still had the old west upper. Like being on the edge of a cliff. Anyone else think the old west upper was a better game experience? Now both sides are so high up and backed away from the field. If they ever connect the two around the south endzone I hope the square it up (like the lower bowl) and make it over hang some to bring those seats closer in and on top of the game. Lemme guess, yall all sit between the 40s in the bowl?

I was referring to an old thread where Red was teaching me about why we should ditch TS in the no too distant future and build a new stadium closer to the river. I'd be in that thing when they imploded it! I just haven't seen a stadium built recently that I like (and yes, that includes that flying saucer they have in Arizona that everyone seems to drool over). Give me classic old, heavy, stone and concrete over those erector set looking deals.

I don't see what they're waiting for. Just run down to Best Buy and pick up a 200 foot plasma. Gotta make sure it's 1080p though.

My memory is fuzzy, but I'll ask next time they do a TAF Facilities Tour.

That "thing" at Texas is GOD-awful. I agree with the original poster.... Why go to the game just to watch it on a huge screen? You're better off staying at home...

If they would upgrade the sound system it would be great. If the wind is out of the north you can barly hear the PA in the north endzone.

I like the idea of putting screens at the "corners" but I'd want to keep my screen in the north. It's th only way I can watch the game and perform my 'Marshalin' " job. :D
