Myself and 2 other fans were cooking hamburgers for about 100 cub scouts at a campout. We had a radio on, and about 25 yards away, there were a bunch of men sitting outside an RV with a TV. When Hawthorne started screaming, we dropped our spatulas and headed for the TV. That batch of burgers burned, but it was hard to feel guilty.
Section 114, row 10. Caught it right in front of my eyes. 5 minutes later i was on the field. i have the turf to prove it. IT WAS THE COOLEST THING EVER.
i watched the first half and was confident that we would beat kentucky down like usual, so i left and went to a rummel football game. :cuss: came back and thats alllll ESPN was talking about :thumb:
I was here in Raiderfanhouse, being that the game was on JP  : http://www.rickys.com/index.cfm Game started at 9:30AM Pacific, it was a early drinkin' morning... Drank more as the game went on, especially second half. Left as soon as KY kicked the FG, slamming the last empty mug on the bar Drove home in a funk listening to extremely loud tunes. Drove across the bay to the Stanfurd (work) tailgate party (didn't go to game), which I attend for camaraderie (and free grub & booze.) As I approach the tailgater, still P.O.'d, my boss yells: "GREAT GAME FOR YOU GUYS!!!!" i thought he was f'in with me and yelled back: "F. U.". He says: "Didn't you see the Hail Mary to win the game???" I said "F. me"....
We were losing with little time left, and I had to leave the house for a few minutes for whatever reason. When I got back, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the score on the ticker. I called home to find out what in the heck had happened. My mom had been in her car, was listening to the game, and had turned into the driveway before they ran that play, stopped the car, went inside expecting to find my dad in a foul mood because they'd just lost...and instead, he was almost out of his Lazy Boy laughing and almost crying and said, "Those sons a b****es won" when he saw her. I love that play, but it's not necessarily my all-time favorite simply because it came against Kentucky, and it never should have happened. We should not have had to resort to a last-minute "miracle" to beat Kentucky, there's not that much parity in the SEC. I certainly do appreciate the way, under Miles, we beat the crap out of teams that we're supposed to, and I hope (knocking on serious wood here) that that trend the last few years continues.
I had given up and gone to the kitchen for a drink during the time out, and was not going to watch the last futile attempt. My son, 13 says just loud enough for me to hear, "omg we won!". I holler "nice try, don't mess with me boy". He was in shock I guess, and quietly said "I'm serious, we scored on a bomb". Something in his tone made a believer out of me, and I flew back into the living room to watch the numerous replays. I knew we didn't deserve the win, but to see KY team/fans hearts ripped out was classic!
Want to know the truth, I missed the entire thing. I was watching the game at home in Dallas. In digust I turned the TV off smashed my remote and went outside to help my wife weed the flower bed, she left earlier because of my cursing and unsavory language and insults. Said she had enough. So after a few hours outside mumbling and cussing I go inside to have some water and I am watching some other game. At the bottom of the screen the score pops up, and I thought it was a typo. I had a huge question mark over my head. So I slowly get to a computer and boom "Bluegrass miracle" my answering machine had 15 messages on it. I missed ALL of it because I was out side throwing things... So I missed it all. But I did see the Iowa Cap one bowl, so the one good one I miss the bad ones (Iowa, Arky) I see in all their glory. It sucks being a fan
I was at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. We had an LSU group down there for a science experiment. About 5 of us watched the game in our room. Just before the BG Miracle happened we figured the game was over and we were late enough for work (There is about a 16 hours difference between Antarctica and Baton Rouge.) When we got to the galley everyone was talking about it. We had to watch it on replay after work.
