David Irons hit in the eye with bottle from stands

    Sunday, November 19, 2006

Auburn cornerback David Irons was hit in the eye with a water bottle thrown by a fan and head coach Tommy Tuberville had to dodge debris while running off the field after Auburn's 22-15 victory over Alabama Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

  2. I remember my own Bryant-Denny experience after the '05 game. It was the student bus trip and we're walking back to the bus. Well, we accidentally took the wrong way around the stadium and these frat guys start yelling at us saying things such as "Oh, you think you're so bad, don't you? KATRINA KATRINA KATRINA!" There's that overrated class again.
  3. Troublemakers. :yelwink2:

  4. I never seem to have any problems with Bama fans. Maybe my bottle is bigger than theirs.:)

  5. At the 05 game one of my wife's friends wrote roll tide on my LSU koozie (sp?) now that's classless.

Seriously though some people take a lot stuff that happens of the field a little too seriously.
  6. I think you got the schools mixed up. Bama fans were the ones throwing bottles at players in the endzone after the JR TD pass in OT. And a Bama player got hit.:dis:
  7. That is the truth. I am passionate during events, but when they are over, it is time to be a man. Now if you are messing with my lady, then I gotta defend that, but you can't get PO'd because your team lost, or the refs screwed up, etc....
  8. Sorry to repeat on your quote, but I am stymied. Exactly for what type of competition do you get a water bottle as a trophy?

  10. I don't think I would use "classy" to describe Coach Miles. I would use words like, honesty, down to earth, people person, etc. I don't know him, but I wouldn't put him in the catagory of classy, or flashy dresser, or great speaker. He seems more like some guy you would like to have for a neighbor. I have always liked him. I am really glad that the fan base has come around.

If the worst thing they can come up with is to say that our coach has no class, then I can live with that. The "class" they should be worried about is our recruiting class. I expect us to beat them for the next few years, and unless Auburn turns the ball over 5 times, they won't beat them either. Take a look at their schedule, I see losses to Auburn, GA, Tenn, LSU, and FL St. Arky will give them all they want. Bama fans need to cool it down a bit.
