I think it will be critical to get a #1 seed to get to the final 4 for a 4th straight season. #2 seeds have a much higher chance at being upset by a #3 seed than a #1 playing a #4. With home wins over current #5 UConn and then the following week over #3 Tennessee and a road win over #14 Vandy would boost LSU to #3 in the nation, more than likely. LSU has 42 straight wins at home (longest current streak in the nation). It's time to put that to good use vs. UConn and Tennessee. I think two #1 seeds will come out of the ACC and the other 2 to Tennesee and LSU if LSU ends the season in style as I indicated. Ohio State has a shot but I think they have to run the table to get it. The ACC will not get three #1 seeds, so it appears defending champ Maryland will not get one.
Yeah I don't expect much right now, just referring to the fact that it could have easily turned into a Saban thread just by what you posted. Hopefully we have some great LSU Women's BB fans that can comment. They are a nicely coached team and deserve our support.
I am a big Pokey fan, and I agree that it is huge to get the number 1 seed in the women's tourney. There seems to be far fewer upsets in the women's game, and that number one seed is really important to make it to the final four. Geaux Girls!!!!!!!!!!
You got that right. In the past few seasons, it's been #1 vs #4 and #2 vs #3 many more times than not in the sweet 16 of the tourney. Much more top heavy than on the men's side. You definitely don't want to get stuck as a #3 seed having to beat both the #1 and #2 seed in your bracket, it's almost impossible.
