More beloved in Louisiana- Saints or Tigers

    TheDude I'm calmer than you.

It is obvious to everyone who the flaming racist is on this board. We all realize the annual destruction of your team on national stages is starting to get to you, but can't you go work out your issues somewhere else? Nobody is fooled into thinking you have any genuine interest in LSU or the state of Louisiana.

The word is "you're" and I'm not wrong at all, my friend. You are thinking in terms of the last few decades and from a New Orleans perspective. I'm talking about the entire historical pattern of settlement over three centuries and the pervasive culture.

The Florida Parishes are largely white anglo-saxon protestants with English surnames, blue laws, below-ground burials, voting patterns, upland south culture, and general demographics of north Louisiana. Cultural geographers have published books and maps on the subject. There is more culuture and history and much more territory in the Florida Parishes than the "North Shore" New Orleans bedroom communities alone.

Now you're complaining about what school Reggie Bush decided to attend 4 years ago? You do realize this is an LSU board, and no one here really cares about ND vs USC recruiting? Do you realize that everyone here including fans of your own school all hate you? Do you realize that everytime you post something on this board, you make Notre Dame fans everywhere sound like whining babbling idiots? Do you realize that this is your reputation on more than one board? Everybody else can't be wrong. YOU are obviously the biggest part of the problem. YOU really should have your computer priviledges (sp?) revoked!

OK professor, you're comment here is correct my opinion was taken from the newer history of Louisiana, but culture is a process that is evolving at a fast pace, and certain events sometimes force a cutural change.

Katrina has caused a push further north now, and I feel that the cutural change that has occured are enough for a change in the cutural make up for the state of Louisiana.

Thanks IrishEyes! I tend to stay away from here when I start seeing this guy's post.

In regards to my preference, I tend to pull for the saints much more than LSU. Sorry tiga, I'm one of those alums that doesn't pull for LSU. I don't often pull against them (only 5 times since I've started in '86 - take a guess when that was), but I can't honestly remember the last time I really cheered for them. With the saints, I was one of the suckers that always held out hope that "this is the year". At least this year they finally came through.

No, I'm not bitter that Bush was bribed into going to play for SC. I was just pointing out that there has been a pattern with this guy, where the housing situation wasn't the first time he's been blatantly broken NCAA rules. Honestly, I'm relieved that he didn't choose to play for ND because he would have been a cancer on the program. He would have brought down the ND football program just like he's about to do with SC- sanctions, lost scholarships, no bowl eligibility. When it all said and done, even Carroll might be forced out.

    I beleive you :hihi:
Name a few other "blatant violations" please (enough to show a pattern)

Brought ND down from what? Y'all have accomplished nothing in over a decade.
Do you honestly beleive that the NCAA would do that to the High and Mighty Irish. Wasn't it you who said how much college football NEEDS ND?
Well, at least y'all wouldn't lose any more bowl games that way.:thumb:
Poor bastid, he'll just sign another massive contract with his choice of either another premeir school, or an NFL team.

BayouIrish, I'm sorry, but I just don't get it. How did it happen that you graduated from LSU, but you don't cheer for us?
