Crowton will be making $400,000 per year. Article also says Miles will be paid to be in the top 5 in the SEC. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/5262791.html
Only if he wins 10 games. An SEC championship will get him in the top 3. A MNC gets him in the top 3 nationally.
He should definitely be in the top three. Obviously no one is going to get more than Satan, but c'mon, Miles has proved he can coach and that he is willing to bring in the best athletes and coaches possible.
Welcome to the Saban Surcharge. Someone should run the numbers on just how much the Saban contract will inflate program costs. And remember, this is just in time for congressional insight into NCAA tax status and athletics programs in general.
Miles not worth half of Saban's salary? Well according to Skip this is the case. Miles will get 1.8 million after consecutive 11 win seasons. Skip is starting to seem like a tight ass and he was the person quoted in one of the national newspapers as saying something along the lines that he thinks coaches are making too much. If he keeps this up when UM comes calling Miles will walk.
Re: Miles not worth half of Saban's salary? He just paid $400K/year to Crowton, making him one of the higher paid OCs in the country. Not exactly a cheapskate. I do agree Les Miles deserves a pay raise given the market however.
Re: Miles not worth half of Saban's salary? Miles contract is incintive based. If he wins an SEC Title he will be one of the top 3 highest paid coaches in the conference. If he wins a national title, he will be one of the top 3 highest paid coaches in the country. If by the time Carr is gone from UM, and Miles leaves for money reasons, it will be because he hadn't won an SEC or national title. In that case, I doubt too many people would be heartbroken to see him go. None of this matters since we will be winning a conference title, and hopefully a :crystal: , this year. Big money for Miles!
Re: Miles not worth half of Saban's salary? http://tigerforums.com/showthread.php?t=49060 We need to merge these threads.
Re: Miles not worth half of Saban's salary? I think Miles is like the 27th highest paid coach, but we expect the team to be in the top 5. He should be making at least 2 million a year. Not to mention that Skip has once again raised ticket prices.
