Somebody has a new book out about the Pistol, and SI features some excerpts. Its nice to see him in the pictures with his LSU jersey on with captions like "Greatest player ever". :thumb:
It has been an interesting read so far. I am not done with it, but just making it through the part about his father and how he developed into the player that he was. Impressive, but also a little unnerving, some of the things that his father made him do.
After reading the SI article, which I enjoyed, I had the same thoughts about his dad. Nevertheless, a good article.
While I had always heard that Press pushed Pete extremely hard, I was fascinated to learn that.... 1. Mike Ditka played BB for Press in high school. 2. Press and John Wooden were close friends and roomed together. 3. The story about Pete in that overtime game at UGA was great.
