We didn't get the chance! Duh. A very flawed system placed one team in the title game that belonged (LSU), one that did not (OU) and one was left out (SC).

We can claim to be #1 because we won that game and were presented with a neat-looking crystal football. If you ever wanted to look at one, I believe the closest one to South Bend is in Columbus.

Georgia played them last year during the regular season and promptly blew them out. The difference between this years boise st team and last years, is that they actually played ranked teams last year.

In macatak's defense, I believe he's just pleading for a playoff system. The problem is, we ALL want a playoff, especially this year. Mac, nobody I've heard is disputing that Boise St. is a good team, but there is no way to determine how good they are because they don't really play tough competition. Maybe it's not their fault, but it's certainly not UF's fault, just like it wasn't LSU's fault that USuCk didn't play anybody in '03

Like was said before, should Tulane share the championship for going 12-0 the year they did? I remember in the beginning of that season, Corso predicted they would go undefeated IF they could get past USM. Everyone thought he was nuts, and he asked if they had seen their schedule. When he showed it to them, they agreed. It speaks volumes when all you have to do is get past USM, or in BSU's case, Oregon St., to go undefeated. Like the guys on SC said last night, UF beats OSU 9-10 times on a neutral field. Turn it around to BSU-OU. I bet OU wins 8-10 times AT BSU, much less on a neutral field. But sadly, we'll never know.

I said for weeks now that OSU does deserve to be in the BCSCG, but that we REALLY don't know how good they are, and that's the real problem with college football. At least the #1 and #2 teams in the polls all year were totally exposed playing good competition in the BCS.

Well as much as you were lobbying for the BCS System, you should know that the BCS now only recognizes LSU's NC. They removed USC from their page and I don't have the link.

Boise State has as much right as anybody else to the Mythical NC. Hey, ....don't hate on BSU, hate the system .......

I'm curious. How often has this "claim" to a shared title occurred and has it occurred when the REAL NC was NOT part of the SEC?

I have to tell you, I was THRILLED at the SEC performances in the Bowl Games. The SEC smacked down it's opponents. One day the SEC will get the respect it deserves.


On a good note: At least ESPN's front page focuses on the winners and not the losers.
