He's gone......no doubt about it. Another thread reported that he has signed with an agent, so he's definitely gone. I'm disappointed, but I can't blame him for leaving. He's about to be a millionaire 30-40 times over before he even takes a snap in the NFL. I just hope he doesn't go to Oakland. That organization is in the dumps right now. JR needs to have good coaching cause he's not a finished product at QB yet. As all the tools needed, just not their yet. I wish him all the best.
it would be great for him to fall into detroit's hands how reggie fell to us...those receivers would love for him to come to detroit.
I put it here because I didn't think it needed it's own thread. Looks like the nation thinks JR is the most promising of the QB prospects. http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/story?page=draftqbtracker070104
man what is all this love for Detroit... Oakland as awful, but Detroit has won ONE playoff game since 1957 ONE. I'm hoping some how Granny Davis totally loses it between now and the draft and takes the Incredible Hulk or Hong Kong Fooey with the first pick, because anyone who has watched the Lions draft in the last 5 years knows Millen is taking Calvin Johnson with the second pick. The Browns and Bucks aren't great but their management isn't near as bad as the Raiders and the Lions.
I am happy for JR and wish him the best of luck at the next level.... I would almost say I would welcome Oakland taking JR. They Raiders had the #3 Defense and no QB. I can see Moss getting a spark and actually putting out an effort w/ a new qb. Also, they have a head coaching vacancy, so the future COULD be bright if they get a decent coach. Detriot has great WR's but nothing else....and they have the worst GM in the NFL. :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
He may indeed be gone, but according to FOX Sports, JR's mom said the ESPN report is wrong and that he hasn't made up his mind yet. http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/6347458
Herbie was just on ESPN news talking about JR. He stated he out battled Quinn and has the strongest arm in the college game that he can remember. Listen to this: "What is even more impressive is that he accomplished everything in the toughest conference in college football." I thought I would never hear him say such a thing.:dis:
