Funny - this whole "regret that he left LSU" angle ESPN keeps running is going to take on a whole new meaning come Fall.

Saban is not the man I thought he was...

Perhaps his success at LSU was more "right place at the right time" than I thought previously.

The Saban that I thought I knew would not back down from the challenge in Miami, and retreat back to the college game so easily. And he wouldn't welch on a committment made to an owner who gave him everything.

I don't really think Saban at Bama is the "match made in heaven" than the Bamas think it will be. LSU was ripe for the picking when Saban came looking for our head coaching job. Bama is a good job, and he'll do better than Shula has done, just because the Bama Nation will all line up behind him (for a while). But recruiting at Bama is a little tougher than LSU, and with they money they are paying him, and all his demands, patience will be short.

So at this point.... they can have him, cause he's Tiger Bait now.

I haven't read this while thread, so maybe this has already been addressed, but any chance this announcement will be a distraction for the team tonight? I don't see how it can't be. I guess a better question would be - will it affect the way they play? I believe they may be thinking about it before the game, but once they hit the field, it won't even matter.

hate to see this but I also said from the beginning that this was going to happen. My sources are very good saying that Jimbo and Searles are going with him.
