Re: Saban meeting with Alabama today. WH will not negotiate his Dolphins contract

And what exactly is that $5 mil going to get him? A coaching job where if he doesn't get 10 wins next year, the Bama fans will want his head. A job where the boosters will have a stranglehold over the real decision-making. Saban ain't exactly making chump change with Miami, and has a high level of control over his program.

Besides, you have to be naive to think that this decision won't filter down to his players. How do you convince a potential recruit to come to Bama and invest his effort into becoming part of the post-Bear Bryant golden age rebuilding project when there's a strong likelihood that you'll be gone in a couple of years if things don't work out and bring even more coaching instability? How do you convince that mid-level NFL draft prospect to stick around for one more year, improve his skills, and get his degree, and not go for the quick cash when his coach has a history of immediately jumping ship to grab more dollars? It will be hard to gain credibility with his players after seeing the media circus to which he's adding fuel to the fire.

Dude, he has already said he wasn't going to take the Bama job. What decision is there to make?

of course. notice the pattern? deny, deny but never really put it to rest. deny then somehow have a meeting even though you're not interested.

call a press conference, delay delay delay.

act amongst your closest associates you're "really struggling" with this decision and are "torn".

he's not torn and he's not struggling. be a man and be truthful for god's sake. :hihi: :hihi:

Sad thing is that a lot of LSU fans are too familiar with the pattern:dis:

How awesome is it that the same man who came in here with his jet and stole Saban away from us is now getting jerked around by him. It would be great if Saban goes to Bama. That game each year will be f'n awesome if it happens!

Re: Put info "relevant to" Saban HERE

I have absolutely zero respect for Saban. He has no honor or integrity what so ever in his words. Just two weeks ago he was vehemently denying any interest in the Bama job. Saying he was dedicated to the Dolphins. Yet now he has the nerve to ask for more time to talk to his wife about his decision. We heard that same thing two years ago. He signs a big deal, yet bolts. Im starting to have a real disdain for Saban. I appreciate what he did for LSU, but I cant stand the guy. If he goes to Bama I hope LSU really puts it to them. Id even put an extra few points on him. If he leaves I honestly hope he has no success at Bama. The man has no honor to a commitment.

Well, according to your theory, neither does every coach of all time.

Look at the facts. He jumps at every oppertunity for another dollar. Im not saying not to better yourself. Still in all, honor your contract. I admit Im seeing it a little different because he coached LSU, but still. Dont jump every few years. Honor your contract and your word at least once. I knew Saban fans wouldnt like my comments but that is how I feel.

I will be very suprised if Saban takes the Bama job. He has always wanted to be an NFL HC. He currently has the best deal he'll ever get as an NFL HC. I don't think he wants his NFL legacy to be remembered as someone who was given the keyes to an organization and failed. I also think given time with his work ethic he will be a successful NFL HC. To many highly respected NFL people have backed him for to long for him to walk out of town a failure.

Not true. Plenty of coaches have been true to their word.
