I wonder how loyal Jimbo is to LSU after 6 years of working here.

Jimbo would have to be crazy not to go to Florida State, assuming he gets the gig provided he is also Bobby Bowden's successor. That's the real plum out there. The real question is whether tucker hat would replace him, or would he think that he is the offensive genius and has no need for an OC.

I'd be shocked if FSU made that kind of commitment to an OC. There will be proven head coaches interested in that job once Bowden retires.

Why commit the job to an unproven head coach?

I am so glad to hear he's likely going to be back. I get the impression he is happy but, understandably, would take leave for the right job in "Moving up the ladder" in his career, but will be (and can be) very selective and not leave unless it's 100% right for him.

With Fisher, I may be wrong but I'm getting the impression he got a "Wondering eye".......hope not but worry that is how it is but, like Miles stated, you have to expect that with a successful program and I wish both the best if and when they do leave and I'm sure we'll fill their postion with quality coaches and give someone else a "New beginning" in enabling them to caoch at such an elite program as we have.

Is it wrong of me kinda want Jimbo to take a job elsewhere? He has brought so much to the program and is great at developing quarterbacks. However, there's always been a cloud of controversy that surrounds him and the head coach (whether it was Saban or Miles).

On the other hand, Jimbo is a key reason that players like RP are here. So losing him could have its ramifications.

As for Pelini, I'm hoping the right situation never presents itself for him to leave!

IMO, Good post, I feel the same. Don't have any ill feelings towards Jimbo but the "Cloud" you reference is exactly what I was alluding to.

yeah lets hope he gets out of town.. we dont need him.. he only has recruited 23 NFL players and had offensively his best year ever this year.. Loyalty goes both ways. We will MISS Jimbo when he leaves.

Many have that feeling about Fisher. Funny thing is, we won't really know if those issues were the result of him or his head coaches.

I'm sort of neutral on him, but I would prefer to see him here next year if JR returns. If JR goes, which most think he is, it may not be bad timing for LSU if Fisher moves on.

that cloud hangs around damn near every OC who has ever called a play. And it is put there by fans.
