Was wondering how long it was gonna take for someone to post this. It is what it is. This might be a spooky prelude to the Rose's choice of LSU vs. Notre Dame. Just drives the point home that people like who they like, no matter what happens on the field, court, etc.
Well, three things are certain in this life---death, taxes, and a (very) slow start for the LSU men's team. This is the selfsame LSU team that got beat by that well-known college basketball powerhouse the Univ. of Houston the past two seasons. LSU hit, what, 25% or so from the field? Wow just...wow. Better tighten it up with Tx A&M, U Texas on tap next week.
I feel that I wasn't specific enough. - The Coaches Poll is made up of just that, coaches. Media Darlings (MDs for the rest of my post) would be in reference to the AP Poll. - When you look at this poll, it's about who you have to place a certain team below. I looked at it, and you pretty much have to drop LSU below all of those teams. There is so much time to make it back up. - "A lack of respect for LSU in the basketball world." Really? I know more about Big Baby than his own mother because of all the attention he got during Final Four week. - Is Duke an MD? F*** yes! But not because of anything presented here. I think Dickie V wants to renew his vows at Cameron Indoor with Coach K as the priest. - LSU is far-and-away the highest ranked and most talked-about team with two losses in CFB. Are we an MD? Auburn has two losses and beat us, I don't hear a peep about them......
Very true, after posting I realized it was the coaches poll and hoped my error would not be pointed out. No such luck. I agree with you for the most part however, the thing that ticked me off is that Duke is not a good team this year but only fell two spots and we fell six. Didn't make much sense. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't finish the season ranked. As for football, I think we've gotten a ton of respect this year and it's been nice. We've been the highest ranked one loss and then highest ranked two loss team all year. However, there are some teams that get crazy attention for who they are and not what they've done and espn etc. doesn't even try to hide it. People saying on tv that a program should go to a bowl because of their history is plain stupid. LSU played like crap. Scoring only 52 points at home against a team they should have blown out of the gym is ridiculous. This was the first game where the Tigers were truely tested and they failed to show up. Who is to blame? I don't know, but they better fix the problem soon or it is going to be a long season.
i don't worry about the rankings in basketball. They don't hold much water until the end of the season anyway. I compare this loss to losing to houston last year. It'll pick up.
