the 'wildcat' formation is there because they have a high school coach for an OC... its basically a version of the wing-t...
It seems like we have seen a revival in the "Gadget play/schemes" and trick plays. They do look great when they work, but the coaches get roasted if they fail!!! :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
I'd have to say it worked really really good for arky but Nutt abandoned it in the end. I hope Mcfadden goes pro soon, I don't want to see him in that formation ever again.
we've used it for several games. generally its been very successful. mcfadden has the decisions to make, keep, pitch, or pass, so its much like a triple option. its the initial motion that makes it somewhat different. it has worked to throw off defenses so far this year. we gained some yards with it on you guys, but obviously not enough. and i like the way jemarcus [sp?] russell throws the ball. "throw" is the wrong word, he flings it on a rope. bullseye everytime.
That reminds me, JR got some credit today on the Sportsreporters on ESPN. The toughest guy said that he would pick JR as best QB in the SEC and maybe the nation anyday.:thumb:
