After Florida's win today over FSU, all I am hearing on various ESPN channels by the self-declared "pundits" is that if Florida loses to pigs in SEC Champ game, they will get "the" SEC at-large spot in BCS bowl. I am fine with it coz it makes sense to me that the team losing conf champ game is second best hence deserves the second spot in BCS. (I am talking with W/L perspective and not who is best talented logic).

DID ANY RULE CHANGE BETWEEN LAST YEAR AND NOW????

Wasn't LSU in same boat last year as Florida is this year (1 loss going in conf champ game). With same logic we should have been BCS bowl game but were left picking freaking peaches (Not even new year's bowl) after conf champ loss.

SHOULDN'T THAT APPLY TO FLORIDA AS WELL this year that if they loose the champ game, they should NOT get the at-large bid? What am I missing here.

Is this really that complex to have play-offs or the guys running the show plain stupid.

    Geaux tigers!!!

I would not get too worked up about it - it is the same scenario as last year, and they are exactly that - "pundits" and talking heads. In the end, it comes down to who the bowls really want, who sells tickets, television appeal, etc. I like LSU's chances right now for a BCS bowl - a lot.

the creation of the extra BCS champ game opens up 2 more at-large bids...that were not there last year

we got screwed last year because of auburn accepting a cap one, florida accepting outback and alabama to the cotton before we even played thus leaving the loser in the peach. this year, we will wait to see if we get into a BCS at large. that is why we root for florida(and IMO we root for florida to get to the NCCG, LSU in the SUgar would be amazing, just like 02 and 04)

Great, I can almost hear the reasoning now..."well, they are also a two-loss team but the difference between Florida and LSU is that a) Florida beat LSU, and b) Florida got it's 2nd loss in the Conference championship game...teams shouldn't be penalized, necessarily, for losing in a conference game - after all, they made it and LSU didn't...as a result Florida should go over LSU."

I am sure many of us can shoot holes into this argument, but I see it coming, especially living out here with all these asshats who think they know everything.

The safest and surest way for us to get a BCS bid is to have Florida win the SECCG. It's that simple. Otherwise, we are left to the whims of this dickhead or that dickhead. Not something I really want.

Florida probably has a substantial TV market size advantage over us. I realize that we might be able to offer up about 8 million people in the Gulf South, but if TV market share is an issue, Florida may have an advantage there.

I don't like all this bull****, btw.

In theory maybe..... but don't forget fellow Tiger fan......The best team in the SEC isn't even in the SECCG. :thumb:
