I'm a Tiger fan living in Tallahassee. Jimbo Fisher's name is all over the place here as a replacement for OC Jeff Bowden. I understand that it would just be a lateral move and there's the question of money for FSU. Not to forget the ties to the Bowden family. Is there the possiblity of being the OC for a couple of years, with an opportunity for head coach when Bobby retires??? What's everyone hearing in Baton Rouge?
First I've heard of it. Why would he want to move to a struggling team and leave a top 10 program? I think Jimbo leaves when he gets a head coaching job and the Fl St job will probably not just be handed over to an OC or DC, there will probably be a national search with a lot of interest.
From what I've been hearing among my FSU friends, Jimbo is drooling over the chance to coach a team with the talent that FSU has and the old rumor that "Its a well known fact that Jimbo and Miles hate each other". They seem to believe that any good Offensive Coordinator would make the move to fix the offense, be seen as a savior, and be the first choice to replace B. Bowden when he finally dies on the sideline or up in his practice tower. I think they're all morons. ...drooling over FSU's talent
FSU fans can't be that delusional can they? I would be shocked if Jimbo moved to Tallahasee to coach at FSU. He wants a head coaching job, and a good one, period. There would be no reason to make an arguably lateral move.
There was also a "well-known" rumor that Saban and Fisher hated each other. Maybe Jimbo hates everybody?
What? Are you telling me that not everyone gets 4X their annual salary as a severence package for sucking at their job?
I assume he was just speculating but it's pretty accurate IMO. An offensive coordinator that has won a MNC doesn't really need to prove that he can rebuild a struggling offense. I would also speculate the next job Jimbo takes would be a head coaching position.
