Another subpar outing in a crucial SEC tilt.

We won in spite of him, not because of him.

    Here are some key points:

    1) It's amazing how inaccurate this kid is with his passes. Receivers still making circus catches look rather routine more times than not. Early Doucet saved his ass with a pass poorly thrown intended for Bowe, who would not have been able to make the catch because it was too far behind him.
    2) Has absolutely no football instincts. Functions merely on talent. Case in point, the 2nd down play inside the 10 on the last drive, doesn't see that he has a clear path to run it in, then when he does decide to run, has no idea how close he is to the sideline. He really thought he ran it in for a TD. Ever since he's learned to put some air under the ball, he never seems to know when to let it rip (case in point, throw down the sideline to Davis)
    3) Still doesn't come anywhere close to being able to reading defenses.

That being said, hats off to him hanging in after putting us in the hole that we were in. I applaud him for the gutsy runs, especially.

Unfortunately, another outing like this versus Arkansas will NOT result in a W.

I just hope he finally has "that game" we've been waiting 3 years for him to play.

    1) More often, he squeezed the ball between defenders with his arm strength. Show me another QB in the country with LSU's road schedule who can be consistently accurate from opening kickoff to final whistle.

    2) I guess that was some other pocket QB ripping off 30-yard scrambles with no open receivers.

    3) See above.

Arkansas is veeerrry one-dimensional on offense, and their defense is pretty lackluster. Take a look at how Spurrier picked apart their LBs and secondary tonight. An LSU team as focused as the one we saw tonight is not losing to Arkansas. Tennessee will give them all they can handle next week. They'll drop 2 by the end of the regular season.

Well I hope you have this game Tivo'd. Then come back and tell me the percentage of passes thrown on target and in stride. It's less than 40 percent. We have 3 extremely talented wideouts making him look good.

Case in point, the long pass downfield to Davis, who had his man beat by 7 yards. Woefully underthrown causing Davis to drop it since the safety was able to recover. That pass just has you shaking your head.

The 70 percent completion percentage skewed to horrendous pass defenses against the cupcakes we bombed.

The kid has a strong arm, a rocket arm. Not much else, however.

Let fire 'em all. Head's should roll. It doesn't matter that we just beat the #8 team in the nation at their place. Fire 'em now before we can win another one.:hihi:

    That's my point.

If you think we will beat Arkansas with another performance by JR similiar to this, you are in for a rude awakening.

It's a more than fair assessment of his performance. I just hope he has "the" game vs. Arkansas. It would be nice to end his career at LSU (regular season, that is) with one to remember him by.

you can continue to scrutinize the QB for whatever reason you wish but all the JR haters seem to have tunnelvision and dont realize the problems weve had with the run game which directly translates to JR's ability to be successful. teams just havent had to respect the run that much against us. case in point, today, keiland showed why he was a 5 star recruit...when he had the holes but for the most part there was no where to go with a solid wall in front of him and OLBs or DEs folding in on him. he looked great in the open field though. geaux tigers, remember that, geaux tigers!
