42 points on the board. All offense. That'll win most games. Miss State, a decent team against the run, committed to stopping it and they got killed by the pass. You guys worry too much.

that is what the common sofa-coordinator misses...

All of our receivers are always 1-1... Teams never play us zone. With 7 and 8 in the box all game, we will burn you throwing...

Auburn didn't exactly run all over this team either

In criticizing the run game (and I have done that as much as anyone) I think one thing we tend to forget about is that our opponents have all stacked the box on us. When the offensive line is facing 6 to 8 players on the line, it is hard to open up holes. That's when we have to open things up with the pass.

Then why didn't we try to throw more against Auburn? We tried to be balanced against Auburn who is at least as strong as Mississippi St is against the run and who has weaknesses against the pass.

We ended up with +100 yards but we only averaged 3 per carry. I think this is a serious concern going into the Florida game. Florida should be able to cover our receivers better and put more pressure on Russell. Especially not being too concerned about us running the ball. And on the flip side, stopping a running qb can be a real pain in the ass. We had real trouble stopping that 1aa team last season.

The stats say we ran 37 times and passed only 23. Is that right? I guess we were balanced (and terrible running the ball).

because Auburn kept grabbing our WR's and knocking into them before the ball gets there, so we couldn't throw as much as we would have liked. That's why!

LOL, according to the stats on Yahoo! LSU ran 37 and passed 23 times today. Strike whatever I said, that is balanced.

Like Sabanfan noted, we did score an awful lot of points. And remember, those same guys that are having trouble opening up holes are also the same ones who are keeping JR very clean in the pocket, giving him the opportunity to pass the way we did today.

I see Mega talent everywhere but the O-line. Thats the one area that's keeping this team from being the Juggernaut we wolud like to see. What's that line from Conan the barbarian something about crushing your enemy, drive them before you, and hearing the lamentation of their women... I just keep wishing I get to see one Tigers team like that before I croak.

could be worse I guess, I could have been born a old piss or miami fan :hihi: :hihi:

I agree. We should have passed more in the Auburn game - particularly in the 4th quarter.
