I have read this somewhere on here but Tim Calishaw stated on ATH that the replay officials are just local guys and his suggestion was that the NCAA spend a little money and bring in some non-partial officials. Nice to know that the person with the most control of the game is a hometown guy, talk about homefield advantage.

Well since it was posted on here and Tim used his face time to encourge the NCAA to change it's policies, I think it is definently true.

Well that explains it. How else can a obvious catch and fumble out of bounds be overturned?

I think Cowlishaw was referring only to the OU-Oregon game. PAC-10's policy is for PAC10 crews to officiate home OOC games.

I don't think so because he specifically said NCAA, he seemed to be using the OU-Oregon game as his example.

but the NCAA doesn't control officiating crews, conferences do, and the guidelines vary among the conferences... Doesn't seem like you can make a general statement about how the NCAA manages officials under the current scenario.

Does anyone know where the officials on the field are from? From today's advocate, these are the culprits:

The crew who called the LSU-Auburn game included referee Jeff Roberson, umpire Rick Lowe, linesman Gary Jayroe, line judge Mickey Haddock, field judge Dan Moore, side judge Matt Moore, back judge Mike New and replay official Bob Patrick.
