The Gannett paper today reported Miles as saying that DE Kirston Pittman's achilles tendon problem will keep him off the field until next spring. He missed all of 2005 and will now miss 2006. This kid was looking very good before the injury and perhaps could have started last year. Major bummer. Miles also was quoted as saying that "I'm pleased with how Perriloux is playing, he's getting the majority of reps out there". Right now RP is working with the newcomers so that he can get more reps. The reporter suggested that Perrilloux seems to be doing his best work in the red zone.
that makes me sad to hear about pittman...it was looking forward to having the pittmans on both ends....oh well....ricky jean and tyson jackson should be beast this year.
Agreed. Not that you ever want to have a potential starter go down with an injury for the 2nd straight season, but at least it's at a position in which we have adequate depth.
Kirston got a redshirt last year, and hopefully he'll qualify for a medical reshirt this year. I feel sorry for him, and I hope he stays with the program. :geauxtige
see...Dandy Don said Pittman was looking real good and almost 100% in his daily update. I am starting to wonder about some of his stuff.......
For those of you who aren't familiar with RP's style, he is an absolute assasin in the red-zone, so that report doesn't surprise me. At ESJ, they would bootleg him, and if the safety bit, he threw to Dixon, and if he didn't, he just ran with it for 4-5 yards, if not more. He is VERY much like Vince Young in his ability to put it in the endzone
