I don't think so. Most of the teams returning will be as good or better than last year. Even the ones that will be down are only slightly down. My call:

Teams that will be improved from last year -- Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, Ole Miss

Teams that will be about the same -- LSU, Florida, Mississippi State, Kentucky, South Carolina

Teams that will be down from last year -- Alabama, Georgia, Vanderbilt

over the last few years the media has constantly tried to portray the SEC as down... usually because the offenses aren't putting up PAC-10 numbers because there are actually defenses in the SEC...

How will Auburn be better than they were last year?

I agree with everything else, though

perhaps a more healthy Courtney Taylor and Brad Lester (according to AU fans....).

Unless they have an All-SEC 1st teamer at LT and DE I don't know about ... Idon't see it happening.

I don't think AU will be better. about the same which is still damn good.

The media portrays the sec as down anythime UF, UT and bama aren't competing for the championship. IF ut or uf don't win the secc then the league is down. never understood this considering that UF sucked before SOS got there.

I think the lower tier of the conference will be much improved, except Vandy of course. But it will be a more level conference, not quite as top heavy as before.

Ole Miss should make some serious strides. Arkansas is the team to watch in the SEC & will definitely be better. Kentucky I expect some improvement from as well.

The West will be the stronger division next year, with Auburn & LSU, while Florida won't be as good as predicted for the East & Georgia could quite possibly end up winning the East with 2 or 3 conference losses.

How will Auburn be better this year? One word .... "schedule"

Teams that will be improved from last year -- UT, Arky, AU, OM, UF

Teams that will be about the same -- LSU, MSU, UK, USC

Teams that will be down from last year -- Bama, UGA, Vandy

If LSU will be about the same, then I think that's a fair description for AU as well. Remember - ya'll thought you were the best team in the SEC last year...? Also, watch Florida faulter. One great (if not a little overhyped) recruiting class won't make a difference. The schedule is just too tough for Florida to have a better record than they had last year.

Last year they started a new offensive backfield, now they have a veteran one. They are closer to LSU in overall talent than they have been recently and they have really good team speed.

well im not saying AU will be worse then last year I just think they will have the same record as last year. I think they will lose 2 games. the team might be better but I don't think the record will show it.
