I dunno...the Big East is a pretty solid basketball conference in it's own right. Either way, the ACC and Big Ten have an agreement to play one another.

Although I'd really like to play Duke at Coleman, I'd rather play the Big East also. More talent, more balanced conference.

I like it, especially with the BE being in a very media saturated part of the country. Big 12 might seem a more natural matchup in some ways, has the same number of teams, and might benefit LSU more. The BE has a better basketball profile, and with 4 extra teams we could have problems matching up but I like the idea of going head to head with the big dogs.

Excellent points, especially the media saturation...you've got the major northeast markets covered including NYC and DC. Can't hurt in terms of chipping away any east coast bias, real or perceived.

i like that the SEC is challenging the other "big leagues", however with the big east having, UConn, Nova, Pitt, Louisville, Cincy, WVU, and a solid bottom they will be very tough, but i like the idea of it, i think it'll be win-win for the SEC.
Win and prove yourselves as a top basketball conference, even if we lose we'll still have respect and we'll have more coverage along the east coast

I thought the same thing, then I decided to make sure that it wasn't me being the idiot. Amazing what 15 seconds of Google can do.
