Those are not of the new stadium. I've said it many times. Those are very old renderings of a possible renovated Alex Box.

I wonder who gets to choose the demisions of the field?

If i could it would be 250ft to left field with an 80ft wall....

I don't think so. Those are renderings of an entirely new Alex Box stadium, just done before the decision was made to relocate the site a half mile away. The new stadium will retain the name Alex Box Stadium even in the new location.

This thread ain't about Smoke, troublemaker.

Proof that you don't pay any attention. There are about four threads on the new Alex Box stadium and official announcements by LSU. Do a search.

Yes. Smoke is guilty for a lot of things, but the age of the current ballpark is not one of them.

And you don't have to increase seating capacity when building a "new stadium"...you can keep it the same.

The Trahan drawings of the new stadium look impressive. When I first looked at them (last year sometime,) I thought they were pretty ugly, but after doing a search and looking at other schools' 'parks, I think we could have a winner on our hands.

The decline in attendance has little do to with Smoke, IMO. I think it's more a result of better football teams of late. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I'd be willing to bet that since Saban took over in football, the baseball attendance (actual) has been steadily declining. It makes sense to me mainly because for a while there, in the 90s, LSU football wasn't all that "good" (of course we had our moments, but we weren't winning SEC or national titles) and the LSU baseball team WAS winning national titles. A lot of those fans just wanted to see an LSU team annihilate some other school. A lot of the fans were fans of LSU more so than fans of baseball. Don't believe me? Fine, it's just speculation, but I'm seeing less and less "ignorant" fans at the games... you know the guy that wants to whine about every pitch that he thinks is outside (or inside,) calls for a homerun every time a guy comes to the plate, etc, etc. I'm seeing less of these types, and I go to the games--as many as possible around school and work.

I'm not bashing fans for going to the games just because it's LSU and we're good in baseball, that's fine... but I think that while our attendance at games is smaller, we have a better concentration of fans of the game.
