"He is twice the QB that Matt Flynn could ever hope to be." God, I hope that's a joke. I'd say based on the short amount of play we've seen from Flynn (the only thing we can base it on), Russell is not even 1X the QB Flynn is as of right now. They're both good and can bring different things to the table.
No Grad Really im not . Clair just used Chaos own observation to point out the wrong reasoning and then Chaos couldnt handle it.
Well chaos' was simply saying that SabanFan did not know about JR locking in on receivers because SF is never at the games. It's something you need to see in person to notice. Then ya went off on him saying that chaos said SF can not have a correct opinion because he never goes to games. Guess I am confused.
Maybe we should start recruiting monkeys for QB. Our offense looked competent for the first time all season against one of the best defenses in the nation.
Yes Grad you are confused we both agree on that. I dont believe you have to be at the games to notice that because i saw the same thing in watching on TV. So why does being at the game mean you are the expert. As a matter of fact i can see more views on TV sometimes than you see at the game. No you dont have to be at the game to see it. I agree with Chaos on the observation he made but that does not mean MF is the best QB either. He has things he needs to improve on too. I also disagree with Sabanfan on some of his observations too but we all 3 agree that it will be the Coach's that ultimately decide.
Matt Mauck got his head right by leading the LSU Tigers to the National Championship! We all forget that the QB has the ball the entire time on Offense, now the defense did their part, but the QB has all the credit of leading the offense to the National Championship.
Just as a side bit, then JaMarcus gets credit for taking us to the SECCG, and for for only having three losses to his name as a starter for LSU. A team's results & successes do not mean that the QB is great. It's simple.
Wrong reasoning? What conversation are you in? Everyone (seemingly the sames ones that favor JR in this debate) was discounting Mauck's abilities as a QB because of a few mistakes that he made. I felt the need to point out what I did. Do you honestly think I wasn't aware that Jamarcus did those things that clair pointed out? He even left out the Capitol One bowl and OSU game from last year. However, he drew a comparison between Russell and Mauck, something that I have not done. Therefore, by assuming such a comparison, he was putting words into my mouth. I don't know how pointing out the obvious equates to 'not handling it.'
