Yeah if we are gonna lose a couple i would rather do it now and be humbled a little and get hot heading into the tournament.

Thats the hot streak i want is to be hot in the NCAA's but we do have to take care of some business to get there too.

apparrently, LSU plays better when nothing is expected of them.

that goes for basketball and football.

Joining this party late, but will echo the sentiment that (1) winning on the road in the SEC, plain and simple, is hard, (2) Bama had 12,584 fans in their coliseum as a revenge game, they had to win, and we maybe didn't play our best... it happens, (3) if there's any time to lose, let's lose now... Let's go on another streak in late February and March.

All in all, the Brady Bashers will come out in force, as we've lost a close game. But, that's the game of basketball. In this game where we were tested hard, good things will come out of it. First, Tyrus had a game where Bama's physical play limited him... maybe this kind of game brings him down to earth, so he can improve and refine his game, learn to better control his mind game. Second, Bama obviously focused on shutting down D.Mitch, and it's better for the team to learn to play without D.Mitch now, than in the tourney--more so, they're going to have to do it without him next year. All in all, the Tigers play a good, talented team, with it's back against the wall, playing on its home court, very tough up to the last minute.

It was a winable game, sure. But a tough loss was probably needed.:geauxtige

We had high expectations, won the SEC West & finished top 5 (or 6). Football is not the problem.

But I agree, this basketball team doesn't handle being ranked very well.

well with football, did anyone here really think we had a chance against Miami in the peach bowl? honestly? I didnt think we did, after what I saw Miami do to virginia tech...

I just seem to think when the pressure is off LSU and they are the underdog, they seem to do better....

Awesome game! I had a great time...A few thoughts...

I thought the key to the game was putting Felix on DMitch. He shadowed him and denied the ball. Played excellent D! ALso, he hit some big 3's. He always shows up to play against LSU.

That was an elbow to the Baby...But it was good acting. He hit the floor and started flopping around and when the foul was called, he got up smiling. He deserves an Academy Award for that flop.

The shot by Hollinger at the half was BIG! :hihi: That was a big play...

I guess I just mean in the sense that he could've passed it off to an open player to hit the three and tie the game, but instead drove the lane against a taller player, was fouled, then missed a free throw. Then I think there was maybe a little more time to set up a play at the end of the game with 9 seconds left, rather than throwing up a desperation 2 pt shot from the top of the key.

Same thing happened against UCONN. It just looks like he was trying to be the hero and make something happen.
