No, I wasn't trolling; just reading some of the comments about thehir perspective on the game when I stumbled across this:

Holy Crap!!!!!!!! That is the funniest sh!t I've heard since.......well ever.
Why the f*** would we be jealous of a cheap trophy that even Pete Carroll wouldn't hold up for poto ops one year later. WTF is wrong with these people?
Is the f***ing smog that bad in L.A.?

It was USC that was jealous of our BCS trophy.

I'd have to say LSU fans were jealous.

There are threads here about whether USC losing somehow "validated" our NC. LSU fans are absolutely obsessed with USC. If they really didn't care & knew that they were the true NC's in 03, then they wouldn't give a dam about USC and their claim at a 3-pete.

Yes, I would say that LSU fans are peeved about the '03 split. And why not? After 45 years, we were in the national spotlight for the big game, except that the media gave more love to USC than LSU--and it did, and still continues to, take away attention from our national championship.

Texas winning will put a stop to the three-peat claims, but it still makes my skin crawl when the media and USC say they were back-to-back champions. Most people will then forget that LSU won the BCS in '03.

The 3-pete frenzy in the week before the Rose Bowl actually caused many in the media, who had otherwise conceded 2 straight NCs to USC, to take a fresh look and realize that LSU's NC was being swept under the carpet. There were more articles last week setting the record straight than in the entire precedng 2 years.

The Texas win further diminished the Trojan mystique and now we are equals.

    It's not jealousy, it's indignation.

I have to agree. USC claiming the AP championship never really bothered me until recently b/c I've grown up in a system of split championships.

What pissed me off was all this 3peat talk this year without giving LSU much credit for winning the 2003 championship. I don't really care what they say or write about how great USC is, just don't dismiss what we accomplished in 2003.

SC losing to Texas proves there is a football god and he knew that all this talk of a 3peat was wrong!

Just the fact that USC is still talking about the 2003 season in 2006 is proof that they feel they have to prove it to themselves that they were the champs that year. You don't see LSU fans 3 years later still pestering them about it (well not many)... because we all know where the crystal football is for that season.

Let them all say what they want.. The media, USC, the whole damn lot of them. Fact is, Nick Saban raised that crystal football above his head on Jan 4, 2004 and I don't recollect seeing any USC team members or coaching staff there at all.

    Congratz USC on your 1-pete.
