http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/stewart_mandel/01/05/look.ahead/index.html?cnn=yes I think Mandel is right on with LSU's outlook, but ND at #2 is really Homerish
Yeah, couldn't believe I saw Notre Dame No. 2. Now that the USC ride is over, I can turn my attention back to rooting for the Notre Dame collapse.
What is ND's schedule next year? If it's similar to this year, they'll likely finish top 5. ND is good, but when you don't play any good teams & the media is in love with you - you look great.
Code: 09-02 @ Georgia Tech 09-09 Penn State 09-16 Michigan 09-23 @ Michigan State 09-30 Purdue 10-07 Stanford 10-21 UCLA 10-28 Navy @Baltimore, MD 11-04 North Carolina 11-11 @ Air Force 11-18 Army 11-25 @ Southern California Wow, they close at USC. Get ready for the hype machine for that one.
With the exception of the Army & Air Force, at first glance that's a pretty attractive schedule on paper.
If ND beats all of those teams - I'll give them credit. (Unless they end up having dissapointing seasons)
I think it will be a tough schedule for next year. Tech, Michigan, MSU, and UNC should all have better years than this year.
