If Vince comes out, he will be the first QB taken... could push Lienart back as many as 4 spots... lotta money..

Coming back for his senior year was a colossal mistake. Wince Young made him look like a chump. Matt Flynn looks better than Lienhart. Seriously, the majority of his yards were screens, outs, and passes to the flat. Big deal.

The young man deserves better than that. I hope Henderson can find a way out of there soon. I want to see Matt down in the big easy.

whatd he throw for? like almost 400 yards i think. had to complete near 70%.

he made the reads and played very well. cmon.

Young wont be chosen first. scouts are the old school NFL network which shuns the running qbs no matter how good they are. mike vick's bad year won't help matter either. im impressed how he has no pulse standing tall in the pocket. thats one cool customer and something you cant teach. he doesnt just tuck and run.

plus he seems plenty long enough to see over d-linemen which is another thing you cant teach.

not sure how effective he will be in the nfl but i dont think ive seen a player have a greater turnaround in a single season than him.

less than a year ago everyone was saying he cant even complete a pass much less be an NFL QB. all he can do is run. then he comes back and leads the nation in passing efficiency while leading his team in rushing as well. im not sure what else he has to do except prove it wasnt a fluke.

it surely doesnt seem like it to me. i think hes arrived and wouldnt mind taking a shot at taking him if i were in position. odds are your picks are busts anyway thats why you always take someone who may make a difference in the game completely if available, a la bush, young, etc.

given that, the saints trade their #2 pick in a trade for jared lorenzon. a true playmaker.

Flynn or Mauck???? Either way, both of those would have to do a little more (Mauck) and Flynn would have to win the starting job out-right....not by injury default.

But having said that, I know it's usually the last game that everyone really remembers, but I think I saw enough of Matt Flynn in that game vs Miami to realize that I definately wouldn't mind seeing him as the starter. He just seems to add another deminsion that JR doesn't have--an ability to pull the ball down and run well enough for chunks of positive yardage.

At this precise moment, it's safe to say that NONE of us have seen RP compete at this level to REALLY say he's good enough to start...or play over Flynn or Russell. It's clear that RP will DEFINATELY be "the man" when Flynn and Russell are no longer on campus, but it's hard to completely say RP is ready right now....cause none of us know that. But if RP can show Flynn's understanding of the offense come Spring practice, and his throws are on par with MF and JR, then there's no reason why RP couldn't get some significant playing time next season....but until then, I if we're only talking about Flynn and Russell.....I think I'd almost have to give Flynn the nod to be the opening day starter for '06.

Yeah right Tirk, throwing screens and pitching it to Reggie Freaking Bush of course it is going to show on paper he threw for a ton of yards. Same thing with Jarrett on the outside. I mean your entitled to your opinion if you think Lienhart is going to be a great QB, but I really doubt it. He is another Testaverde, that's all.
