    If Art Kehoe coached on *all* of Miami's national title teams, then his ouster is most interesting.

    That tells me that (a) Coker is getting desperate/feeling some real heat and (b) he and Kehoe have never seen eye to eye, in part becaues Kehoe has worked with far better coaches at Miami (Schellenberger and J Johnson), and Coker felt a little insecure because of that fact.

    Just speculation, but that's my guess.

    Soldinger said he was told of his dismissal Monday morning by Coker, whom he said wouldn't specify why the firings were taking place.

    "If he can find somebody better, more power to him," said Soldinger, 61, who was at Miami from 1984-88 and again from 1995 through Monday. "Maybe he'll find younger. He won't find anybody better."

    Sounds like the plane is going down and to lighten the load Coker sacrificed a few folks to save his own hide.
