I've posted a lot less since the negativity began--I would say after the Arizona State game and certainly after the Tennessee game.

Perhaps Katrina depressed people so much that they decided to take out their aggressions around here, since so little control was to be found over the situation in Louisiana.

As an outsider, I have been "amazed" at the negativity regarding this team and Miles' coaching ability.... not shocked, however, just amazed.

I think (without any expertise on the subject) that the many posts are one of the side effects of winning a national championship. It's the good with the bad. The basic assumption being that Saban's staying would have somehow ASSURED another championship in the very near future ... and therein lies the flaw.

Those things are a little harder to come by...

    At first, I hated it.

Then again, seeing some of the so-called tough posters bash away at the innocent/newbie posters really was quite funny

The things that bother me the most and make me go elsewhere are the people who act like they are in meetings and around teams, coaches, administration everyday so they absolutely know what things are discussed and what was ordered..etc., then they post on the Forums as if it is gospel and will personally attack you if you by God disagree with them. Then give you bad rep points because they disagree with you. I had a great debate the other day with LSUDeek and eventhough our points differed I gave him great rep points because he didn't personally atatck me and his points were valid. I've used the "ignore" button on some who decided it was their lot in life to be negative about everything and if you're not then you get attacked.

I've watched this for a couple of days, so lets sum up where we are. The dissent on the board regarding the job Miles did this year as our head coach has caused some folks to be less inclined to post on the forum.

The reason for this is not that there is an argument going on; in fact most people feel it is the nature of the board, and the arguments make it more interesting.

People do NOT like the personal attacks used by the parties argueing. It's ok to disagree with someone, but that should not be used as an excuse to personally attack that person. You can dislike a persons opinion, but maintain a professional and courteous dialog with the person.

I'm hearing people would like to see the disagreements continue as they are percieved, but they would like to see greater personal respect for the other person and their opinion. I agree with this.

You've got to admit, though, that there are a couple of real dummies around here.

Most here probably haven't noticed, but I haven't been around as much this season. That is probably due, in part, to the "dissention" of which you speak. But then, with a demanding job, a family and other hobbies, I don't seem to have nearly as much time to devote to this place as many of you do.
