I have had an idea on how to show everyone on this forum how bad the attendance is at the men's basketball games. For the whole year I will keep the attendance of each home game and update it here. It is really sad that the LSU "fans" can't turn out to support the team. For those of you who remember the words "Deaf Dome" well they are no longer there! This basketball team is very talented and can become the top team in the SEC. I'm tired of hearing all the Brady #$%^! If that is the reason you won't show up then you are a real "fan"! Lets embrace this team and rally behind them make them proud that they choose to go to LSU!. The PMAC holds 13,472 people and has new seating with a newly renovated inside structure. You can see how sad this is when you have 100,000 tiger fans on campus for the football games compared to the 7000 or so that show up to the basketball games. LSU probably has some of the cheapest tickets in college basketball so money is not a factor. The attendance should be over 10,000 at the least. This is a representation of our school LSU! and is an embarassment. I might hurt some feelings but this had to be done, does not apply to those who attend the games! I Challenge all of you to attend if you are able. You need to find actual attendance. None of the games I have been to this year have had more than 5k there at best. Just my opinion.
i was gonna post about this as well. its really really bad. only half of the paid attendance actually attends. last game they announced a grand total of 3,062. that is horrible.
There are times during games when the people who are there do get into the game and cheer loudly all together. You can see how this impacts the players because their pace picks up and they simply elevate their play. I can only imagine what these kids would play like if they had a packed house there every game supporting them. The PMAC truly can be a wonderful place for both the fans and the players.
Keep posting both though... Would be interesting to see how many no shows there are for each game too.
I was there for UNO on Tuesday night. It really pales to when we would line up outside the PMAC in the afternoon for that evening's game. I can remember doing engineering homework on the ramps by flashlight many a night in the early 90s.:thumb:
LSU attendance will be improved since we have a great team this season. :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
