    Nutt is doing his press conference right now. They said he is trying to justify hiring a high school coach for OC.

    LSU did this with Stanley Roberts and his high school coach if I remember right. Also, Saban tried to hire Frank Wilson from OP Walker when he had all those top recruits there a few year's ago. This stuff goes on all the time, nothing new here.

    Will Houston Nutt now take his name off the Colorado HC candidate list?

    And will Nutt now re-fire Wittke, after he unfired him?

    And will Nutt apologize again for forgetting to rank West Virginia?

    Total chaos in that program. :hihi:

    I'd take SL Carroll Tx HC, Todd Dodge in a New York second if Fisher left. Watch for Major Applewhite

    Hiring high school coaches is nothing new. It happens all the time, except usually - it's for a much more low-key position than Offensive Coordinator. That is absolutely crazy to have a high school coach as an SEC Offensive Coordinator.

    Yeah, I'm in agreement here. Obviously, others have moved up from High school coaching to College coaching. This just seems like a huge move. Maybe the guy is that good, I don't know. I guess stranger things have happened.

    Does anybody know of any similar coaching move in recent history?

    Before the '81 season Notre Dame hired Gerry Faust as head coach. He was headcoach at Moeller High School in Cincinnati for 18 years before that. From '81-'85 he went 30-26-1 .

    Thats a ballsy move, from HS coach to Notre Dame head man.WOW

    True, but it might be a step up from having Nutt calling the plays.

    All the Hog fans expected Wittke to take over that position a couple of years ago as Nutt indicated.

    But then Nutt did a flip flop after he was off of the hot seat.
