Footballrumormill.com reports that Muschamp has reportedly interviewed for the head coaching job at MTSU. "I think he's probably ready to be a head coach," Saban said. "I'm not an expert on who's ready and who isn't, but he's certainly an outstanding coach. Muschamp also worked for Saban at LSU.
"Probably" "Not an expert" I'm glad Saban doesn't write my reviews. :hihi: I guess this is about as good of an endorsement as you're going to get from Saban.
If he gets the job, I'm sure we'll get to see how Will is doing up close and personal as "perennial Sun Belt power" 4-win MTSU is the perfect candidate for an LSU home game in the Skip Bertman Era at LSU.
"He's done everything an assistant could do to be ready to take the next step, but as I learned when I first became a head coach, there's nothing that you do as an assistant that makes you a good head coach. It's a whole different deal." sounds like he wants to keep him. lol
LOL, I don't know what it sounds like. Almost like he can't just say something good. Does that mean he wants to keep him, or he really thinks he isn't ready and doesn't want to say it?? Who knows?
seems like hes trying to hurt his stock so he can keep him. damn saban, cant you lie and say something nice without a jab at the end.
Saban is saying that Muschamp would be a good hire, but don't blame him if he crashes and burns. He's making a recommendation but avoiding any responsibility for the result.
I hope Will gets the job and turns MTSU around. If he does a good, quick, thorough job there, don't be surprised to hear his name whispered around Baton Rouge for a Tiger takeover. That is, if Les Miles stumbles. By this time next year, the direction of LSU football will be crystal clear, up or down. Right now, as a fan, I feel in limbo. I think that the future quality of the program is blurry at best. I sure sense, though, that it won't take much more than one stinker of a season for Miles to get canned.
