Good point but Miami is not a city that supports its pro teams well either.

They all must get enormous royalties for the gear sales then because an aweful lot of money is being thrown around by a couple of teams with crappy fan support...attendance wise anyway.

The U has never drawn much of a crowd for reasons stated on this thread, but they have a large fan base throughout the country especially in the Northeast. That might help their merchandise sales, but not selling tickets.

True in most cases, exceptions would be the Univ of Michigan which sits basically in Detroit and the Univ of Washington

Miami is an expensive private school for Cuban and South American drug lords, to send their kids to. Also the surrounding area is either to expensive to party at or you would be to likely to be shot and rolled. Latinos (for the most part) don't like American Football either.

    That is funny.....:hihi:

Oh btw I have two friends who live in Florida and are Miami fans. They are the biggest fans during pre-season and before a game, most of the time they never
watch the entire game, just go back and worth from whatever else they are watching. Never do they attend the games, and will smack talk after the game if
Miami wins. Let them be behind in a game or lose and the team sucks rear ends
and the coach's need to be hung and run out of town. (Kind of sounds like some
LSU fans...hmmmm) Well they just sound like the typical Miami fans, I guess when you win so much it can get a little boring and if you don't win it all its
no fun to watch unLESS you win every game.....:yelwink2:

I can't wait to see the other side of the turnout.

Last year at the Capital One bowl, I was ashamed of LSU's turnout. A lot of that was attributable to Saban's departure and the timing.

If this year is similar in turnout, no wonder LSU almost fell to the Independence Bowl.

Orlando is a pretty good drive. Atlanta isn't a hop, skip, and a jump away either. I'm sure that there will be a good turnout for Atlanta. I knew there wouldn't be a lot in Orlando. The bowls don't care who is there from each team. All they care about is selling out the stadium. Money is money. I believe the Cap One sold out. They made their money and they're happy. If given a chance, I think they would be more than happy to have LSU there again in the future. It's not really about how many fans a certian school brings. It's about the pairings. If you put the right teams in a game then the game itself will sell the tickets. LSU/Miami will be a sell out.
