It was confirmed in Atlanta that there are several possible recruits of our's that visit this site on a regular basis. What is said here by the fans does have an impact on the way they view our program. The constant coach bashing and negative talk could influence their decisions. Hell, who wants to jump on a sinking ship?

Our current players also read these forums. Do you think that the comments made about the coaching staff could alter the way they view their leaders? I do. These are young impressionable people. If half the state is saying their coach is a moron it must be true, right?

Before you type something on here for the whole world to read, ask yourself if you would want the top defensive tackle recruit in the country reading it. After Georgia lost to AU and Florida I visited their boards quite often. They did not look anything like ours. They were critical but in a constructive way. They did not abandon all hope and look for a reason to blame the coaching staff.

Also, I come here to talk to LSU fans and get the latest scoop, not read negative post after post about how much we suck and how stupid the coach is. I think I may take a break myself.

EDIT: If it was one of you going down I-20 today with all of the crap about Coach Miles writen on your Ford F-150, you should be ashamed of yourself. Complete lack of class. AU, GA, Florida, Alabama, Ole' Miss, Miss St.....should all have you on their payroll. I'm sure you did wonders for their recruiting efforts.

Last night was extremely disappointing, but perspective must always be kept, and that is something that has been most lacking this entire season.

I love the Tigers, through good times (which these are) and I've loved them through bad (which these AREN'T).

You can really tell the so-called fans on this board now. I do not mean the ones that disagree with the coaches. I mean the ones that are bashing the team in every shape and form.

These are the people who were not fans before the 03 season, these are not the fans that traveled along side the Tigers through the dark years. And if by chance this is a dark era we are about to go through, which I dont think is happening, these fans will go away and we will be left with those that really care about OUR TIGERS!

Thank you - my visits to this post have way fallen off because of the negativity - LSU Tigers WON 10 games this season - get over it! Yes we played horribly last night - not what I wanted, but did any of you expect us to be in the NC game? This does not excuse last night's debacle but last night's game does not wipe out the entire season - which was PRETTY DAMN ENTERTAINING!

    Salty,

Great Post! 10-2 and in the SECCG for the 3rd time in 5 years. Sustained excellence.

I wasn't happy with the game last night, it was painful to watch. But I sure enjoyed the season! Many exciting wins over quality opponents.

You are correct about supporting the Tigers. If we don't, why would we expect a top recruit to come here? Some fans on this board are so immature that they are helping run the program down.

Your complaining will do NO good, only harm. We are 10-2 right now, and we are not going to make a major coaching change. It's not going to happen. So, all the negativity cannot produce a change, it can ONLY drive away recruits. Is that what you want? Be practical and think about it for 2 full minutes.

Maybe you want to blow your own skirt up and flatter yourself with your brilliance, by taking shots at the coaching. Will it change anything? No. Only create a generally negative impression of the program. Everyone in America can read these posts, and they do if they are interested in our program. What impression do you want to give the world.

Look, its ok to criticize the coaches if you do it reasonably and with balance, and with some perspective of both good and bad.

I'm not always happy, but I'm always behind the program. I want LSU to be as successful as possible, and I am willing to do my small part to help create that success. Are you willing to do your part?

I agree that some people go way overboard and basically act like morons when everything doesn't go perfect. However, trust me when I tell you fans and administrations from other schools act unreasonable too. UG fans were so constructive after their losses because their games were well coached and played. Their losses were extremely close and they didn't even have Shockley in one of them (and in the other he still wasn't 100%). What's to really complain about? This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for them. Also, those games weren't an SEC Championship. There weren't any huge reasons to bash Georgia's coaches. Their coach has proven over time that he's a really good one. So, I don't think that comparison is equal at all. Hell, Georgia fired Jim Donnan with an overall 40-19 record and 4 straight bowls. Their fans and administration were not happy that they weren't winning championships. You see, Georgia is just the same as the rest.

I do see why some are really critical though. I possibly see major problems on the horizon for LSU football. I think the problems at this point are glaring. However, it still was a very successful season and I was happy to be at the Georgia Dome. And what really matters is how fans support the team on the field. We we getting our asses waxed and LSU fans in the stands were still having fun and cheering in the 4th quarter. I can tell you two years ago those Georgia fans hit the exits really early when we were beating them. So that's what really matters. If a recruit is so sensitive that he cares more about what is on a message board than what's going on in the stadium, I don't really want him. Football is not figure skating. You have to be tough.

And the most important question in terms of recruiting is not what impression our fans give to other people. The most important question is what impression does our head coach leave on people. When he doesn't give a post-game interview after a big loss (if that's true from what I've heard) to the station that broadcasts his games, what impression does that leave? Just a question.
