I understand what you are saying, and the BCS is certainly a bunch of bull. However, the USC president and every other college's president with a major football program agreed to the BCS system. If you agreed to a system, and your team did not come out on top as a result of that system, well then you have nothing to complain about. Now, for the media to ignore the BCS thing, ESPN in particular, when ESPN is owned by ABC, who had a big hand in creating this mess, and does the ESPN/ USAToday poll, which was handtied to voting the BCS winner number one, they are hypocrites to call UCS the champion that year when the system THEY created says otherwise.
I never have heard anyone call USC THE champion from that year. And while all school presidents and conferences the like agreed to the system, the door was at the time left open for the slight possibility of a split vote. What are you gonna do? The irritating media attention you refer to has much to do with the fact that the Trojans haven't lost since 2 seasons ago. That IS a good story, no matter how much you hate them, think their competition is weak, blah blah blah. Going undefeated for this long is very hard in modern college football. If they had lost to, say, Notre Dame this year nobody would be talking about them except for Reggie Bush. Goddamn I'm sick of talking about USC on the LSU board. I'll stop now.
Consider this: both Texas and USC are shockingly upset this weekend. Both fall below LSU in all human polls...yet USC gets put into the Rose Bowl w/ Penn St due to the computers. Whomever beats whomever in that Rose Bowl...and LSU stomps a mudhole in W Va. And, just like that...you have LSU as the 2005 Associated Press National Champion. LSU will be #1 should UT and USC lose Saturday, and a Sugar Bowl win won't cause them to fall, so it's AP all the way, baby, should that happen. Funny how life works out sometimes, eh?
There T-shirts will say Three-peat with a hesitation! They know they are not three-peating but as long as the media is behind them that hesitation will pass a little easier! The shirt has no meaning at all for me if they "feel" comfortable wearing it go ahead wear it! But deep down in their souls they will no that it is something that has not happened yet!
It will say 3-Peat* The * will be for AP Champs in 2003. this will be written in small letter on the back on the shirt tell so they can tuck it in their pants so they don't have to admit that LSU WON the NC in 2003!
We can just shoot all the AP voters and be done with it. No controversy. Much easier than trying to get a playoff or arguing about it.
A THREE "PEAT?" Is that "west coast" dialog for "Look Mommy. We PEED in the potty "three" times today.....all by myself...Do I get to breast feed now?":thumb: :crystal: :crystal: :crystal: Now that's a three peat
:crystal: :crystal: does not equal :crystal: :crystal: :crystal: I thought the media was smarter than that?
