Old Mess HC Ed Orgeron says USC would have beaten LSU in 2003.

Do you guys think that the players would definitely catch wind of this? IF so, would love to see their reaction. To me, I think it is somewhat of a slap to the LSU team and program; just good fuel that the team needs.

I think you're taking it too personally. Everyone who was a part of that USC team feels the way he does. Would it make you feel better had he lied about it?
Incorrect. A good team is motivated by the thought of getting a win. Collegiate athletes got to the level they're on by being fiercely competitive (in addition to talented). Many of them feal losing more than anything in the world. That whole being motivated by what the other team said crap is just something for the media to pounce on.
Don't but that for one second. Miami was the highest-ranked team left on VT's schedule. I very, very seriously doubt that VT was looking past them. Further, just because one numbskull said they wanted to play USC or UT doesn't mean the whole team was looking past them.
Right. And in this case, VT's weakess was that they couldn't get past Miami's defense.

I'm just shocked that to learn that Eddie Guerrero is dead. I'm sure steroid abuse had nothing to do with his untimely passing.

I agree with those who say Orgeron would be smart to keep his mouth shut, just as Saban always did. Like that old saying--"Nothing is often the best thing to do, and ALWAYS the best thing to say." The fact that anyone considers the statement in the least questionable is reason enough to avoid making it.

Just to add fuel to this fire, it angered me when Eli Manning was quoted after the 2003 Sugar Bowl (actually held in 2004 but you know the game I mean) when he said he had tickets and planned to attend but he really didn't care whether LSU or Oklahoma won. I think anyone who played QB in the SEC and came very close to beating LSU would want to see LSU win--not to mention the fact that Eli is from Louisiana, for goodness sakes. I am not a Manning basher usually but that irked me no end. It's like he isn't a Louisianian, just a New Orleanian.

This is just another example of FightinTIGER being a drama queen, the same way he's been about our coaching staff. The guy was a USC coach, no big deal about those comments.:dis:
